September brings the official arrival of Fall with cooler temperatures, the beginnings of beautiful color and fun things to do throughout Morgan County! Savor the season as you enjoy a visit to one of the area's top fall attractions, dine outdoors, relax at Indiana's only winery, brewery and distillery in one location, or celebrate the changing seasons with a day at the park. Don't forget that the Centerbrook Drive-in remains open on weekends through the fall season! Whatever you choose, don't forget to check the calendar for more upcoming events, as we add them almost daily. Be sure to get the area's Fall Festivals on your calendar and don't miss those signature flavors of Fall!

Here's what's coming up throughout the month of September: 

Morgan County Farmers Market - Tuesdays & Saturdays  
This is your last full month to enjoy a visit to the Morgan County Farmers Market for fresh, locally grown veggies, fruit, meat, eggs, fresh baked goods and a variety of handcrafted items. Stop by for Tuesday Market in Mooresville from 3-7 pm or Saturday Market in Martinsville from 9 am to 1 pm.

Cruise-in on the Square - Thursdays
Come on down to the courthouse square in Martinsville for the weekly Cruise-in on the Square. This fun event draws a variety of old and new vehicles. Stroll around the inside of the square and chat with car owners, explore locally owned shops and enjoy dinner on the square. The Cruise-in takes place each Thursday evening beginning at 5 pm. 

Taps on the Square - Fridays
Join Spirit of '45 for Taps on the Square each and every Friday in downtown Martinsville. Gather at the southwest corner of the courthouse, by the flagpole. Names are read beginning at 6:50 pm, including veterans, Rosie the Riveters, law enforcement and fire fighters. Echoing Taps is played live at the seventh bell (7 pm). Live Music at Hoosier Que - Saturdays
Join Hoosier Que at Foxcliff Golf Club for live music on Saturday evenings! Typically beginning at 7 pm with a variety of locally known performers, plus tasty food and beverages available from Hoosier Que. Music on the patio when weather permits.  

Paragon Homecoming Festival - Sept. 1
If you haven't made it out to this year's 100th  Annual Paragon Homecoming Festival on Labor Day Weekend, hit the final day on September 1. This year, the Homecoming is bigger than ever, with lots of live music, food vendors, carnival games and fun activities to enjoy. Music on the Union Street Stage each night! Parade on Sunday at 6 pm.

Live Music: Evan Grubbs - Sept. 1
Enjoy free live music at Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co from Evan Grubbs on Sunday, September 1. Music begins at 2 pm. All ages welcome! The on site eatery will be open as well.

Speaker: Craig Fenneman on Grassyfork Fisheries - Sept. 3
If you've ever wondered about Martinsville's Goldfish heritage, here's your chance to learn more! The Morgan County History Center & Museum will host this fascinating session on the history of Grassyfork Fisheries, founded right here in Martinsville. Speaker Craig Fenneman is the current owner of the historic Grassyfork Building, located at 2902 North Morgan Street. Program begins at 6:30 pm and all are welcome! 

Open MIc Night at The Creek - Sept. 5 & 19
Join Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co for their twice monthly Open Mic Night on September 5 and 19. Come prepared to perform, or just be entertained! Music begins at 5 pm. On site eatery will be open in addition to the winery, tap room and distillery. All ages welcome.  

Monrovia Festival - Sept. 6-8
The town of Monrovia will present their annual Monrovia Festival on September 6-8. This fun, small-town festival will feature vendor booths, live music each night, a car show and even a parade! Don't miss the kids activity area. Parade begins Sunday at 3 pm.

Big Green Egg Cookout - Sept. 7 
On Saturday, September 7, Ace Hardware in Martinsville will host another Big Green Egg Cookout! These tasty events take place throughout the summer and serve two purposes - to show off those big green eggs (available for purchase from Ace Hardware) and what they can do, and to give you the option of a very tasty lunch that benefits local non profit organization Stability First. 

Speaker: Mooresville's Renowned Composter - Rev. Dr. Frank C. Huston - Sept. 7
The Mooresville Public Library continues its monthly Bicentennial speaker series, this month featuring the life of Rev. Dr. Frank C. Huston, a renowned composer and singer who also owned two publishing companies and led the local choir and congregation at the Mooresville Dsiciples of Christ church in the mid-1930s. All ages are welcome to come learn more about this famous Mooresville resident. Program begins at 2 pm. 

Live Music: Elias Gomez - Sept. 7 
Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co will host live music from popular performer Elias Gomez on Saturday, September 7. This free, all ages show will begin at 4 pm. Adult beverages available on site, as well as great food from the onsite eatery.

Dirt Track Racing - Sept. 7 & 21
Come out and enjoy an evening of traditional dirt track racing on the historic oval at Paragon Speedway! This month's racing will include the BOSS Non Wing Sprints on September 7 and the Open Wheel Extravaganza on September 21. All ages are welcome for these family-friendly racing events. General admission and pit admission available.  

Live Music: Groove/Town - Sept. 7
Enjoy some late night live music at Route 67 Bar & Grill in Mooresville as Indianapolis based band Groove/Town takes the stage on Saturday, September 7. Music begins at 9 pm. 21+ only. 

Free Outdoor Movie - Sept. 7
Head for downtown Martinsville for a very special free outdoor movie featuring 80s classic The Goonies! Martinsville Parks & Recreation will host this fun moving night, beginning at dusk (approximately 8:30 pm) at The Venue, located at the corner of Jefferson and Pike Streets. Bring  your own seating, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks - popcorn will be available on site. Dress as your favorite Goonies character or pirate for a chance to win some treasure!

Porcelain Art School of Indiana - Sept. 8-12
The Porcelain Art School of Indiana returns to the Morgan County Fairgrounds for their 2024 event on Sept. 8-12. This event brings world class instructors and students in porcelain painting to the area from around the country for a week of classes in the art of china painting. Ceramic pieces are fired on site and the public is invited to come observe the classes and see the works created. The best time to visit to see the entire process is Tuesday or Wednesday, but visitors are welcome any time. 

Live Music: Tim Neuman - Sept. 8 
Join Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co for live  music from Tim Neuman on Sunday, September 8. This free, all ages show will begin at 2 pm. On site eatery will be open for a late lunch, and locally crafted adult beverages will be available from the winery, brewery and distillery. 

Workshop: Textured Twist Ring - Sept. 10 & 19
Join other creative folks at The Sterling Butterfly for a jewelry workshop with artist Pam Hurst on Tuesday, September 10 at 10 am or on Sept. 19 at 6 pm, whichever fits your schedule. Participants will craft a textured twist ring, with expert instruction. No experience necessary; all materials, necessary tools and instruction included. Class size is limited to 10 people per date. Cost is $50 per person.  

St. Thomas More September Fest - Sept. 13-14
Join The St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville for their two day September Fest event on September 13 & 14. There will be great food, games, live entertainment, bingo games, basket raffles, a beer and wine garden and more! All are welcome. 

Friday the 13 Market & Art Bazaar - Sept. 13
Join Shively's Farm and Crop Shop on Friday, September 13, for a very special Market and Art Bazaar event, from 4 to 7 pm. There will be an outdoor art gallery, crafting table, free face painting for the kids, several vendors on site and a brand-new food truck option from Sara's Goodies! 

2nd Friday Open Studios & Open Mic Night - Sept. 13
Don't miss the Art Sanctuary of Indiana's fun monthly Open Studios Night on September 13. Mingle with nearly two dozen resident artists and learn more about their work and techniques. Enjoy the exhibition of the month upstairs and Open Mic Night downstairs! Studios are open from 6-8 pm.

Colonel Vawter Day - Sept. 14
Morgantown's annual Colonel Vawter Day celebration is set to take place on Sept. 14. This fun, small town festival kicks off a day full of activities with a 5K Run/Walk. Additional activities include a baking contest, car show, pet parade, art show, vendor booths, historic wagon rides, and more! Don't miss the fun kids zone. Food will be available on site.

Downtown Mooresville Street Fair - Sept. 14
Head for downtown Mooresville on September 9 for another fun Downtown Street Fair! These events feature a wide variety of vendor booths, kids activities, food trucks and more, beginning at 10 am. Come explore downtown Mooresville! (Mark your calendar for one more Street Fair in October, as the May event was rescheduled due to weather.) 

Wines & Vines Container Garden Party - Sept. 14
The very popular Wines & Vines Container Garden Party event returns to Greendell Landscape Solutions in Mooresville on Sept. 14 from 11 am to 1 pm. Create a beautiful personalized container garden with help from Greendell's experts. Event cost is $60 and includes instructions, a pot, base fill, potting soil, five annuals, snacks and your first glass of wine (and a commemorative glass!) from Mallow Run Winery who will be on site. Additional annuals and embellishments are available and are sold separately. Space is limited, so sign up early! Cost is $60.

6th Annual Adult Spelling Bee - Sept. 14
The Morgan County Coalition for Literacy invites you to come and enjoy a spelling bee on September 14 at the Mooresville Public Library, but this isn't just any spelling bee, this is an Adult Spelling Bee! The fun begins at 2 pm when ten teams of two spellers each will compete to win! Refreshments and a silent auction will be available on site. Come cheer for your favorite spellers! No admission charge. 

Bubble Fest - Sept. 14
Join Rediscover Martinsville for a fun day of bubble themed fun! Watch for more details, but we hear this fun new event will feature bubble machines and fun, family-friendly activities throughout the day, leading into an evening of live music with the Dancing in the Park Concert! 

Dancing in the Park Concert - Sept. 14
The Martinsville Community Band will perform at the Downtown Martinsville performance venue at the corner of Jefferson Street and Pike Street on Saturday, September 14. The show will feature an entertaining program of music with the theme Dancing in the Park. Bring the family, and your preferred seating and enjoy an evening of music under the stars beginning at 6 pm. This concert is free and all are welcome. 

Drink at the Creek Concert: Trippin Billies & Joey Harkum - Sept. 14
It's time for another fun Drink at the Creek Concert at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Martinsville! On Saturday, September 14, enjoy the sounds of nationally-touring Dave Matthews Band tribute band Trippin Billies and special guest Joey Harkum! Music begins at 5 pm, Bring your own seating and come prepared for an evening of fun with live music, great food from both Cedar Creek and onsite food trucks. Coolers welcome; no outside alcohol allowed.  

Live Music: Cabin Row - Sept. 14
The Mooresville Eagles Lodge will host live music from Cabin Row on Saturday, September 14. Music begins at 7 pm and this show is open to the public.

Enjoy some late night live music at Route 67 Bar & Grill in Mooresville as Indianapolis based band The Three OGs takes the stage on Saturday, September 14. Music begins at 9 pm. 21+ only. 

Live Music: The Hamilton Bros - Sept. 15
Join Cedar Creek Winery and Brew Co for live  music from The Hamilton Bros n on Sunday, September 15. This free, all ages show will begin at 2 pm. On site eatery will be open for a late lunch, and locally crafted adult beverages will be available from the winery, brewery and distillery. 

Sunset Hike - Sept. 19
Jimmy Nash City Park will host another Sunset Hike on Thursday, September 19. This monthly hiking series is perfectly timed to take you through the beautiful wooden trails in the park, bringing you out on top of Park Hill just in time for a gorgeous Sunset! Meet at the gazebo near the pond.  

Fall Honey Harvest Celebration - Sept. 21
Join Hunter's Honey Farm for their 2024 Honey Harvest Celebration! Take a tour of the honey barn, visit vendor booths, enjoy tasty creations at the Honey themed concession stand and more! Kids' activities, hay rides and more will be available from 10 am to 4 pm.

Brooklyn Fire Department Fish Fry & Craft Fair - Sept. 21
The Brooklyn Fire Department will host their annual Fish Fry and Craft Fair event on Saturday, September 21. This fun event features great food plus handcrafted items from local vendors! Stop by and get your holiday shopping started early, or just enjoy a quick lunch. 

40th Annual Crafty Bear Fare - Sept. 21
Join the Lambda Nu chapter of Delta Theta Tau for their 40th Annual Crafty Bear Fare at the Morgan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 21. This will be the biggest and best event yet - with 120+ craft vendors, a car show, on site food trucks, a kids zone and live entertainment, there's something for everyone! No admission charge, so come out and enjoy the day as you support a great cause. Proceeds benefit scholarships and other philanthropic projects of Lambda Nu, Delta Theta Tau.

Eminence Harvest Festival - Sept. 21
Join the tiny town of Eminence for the annual Eminence Harvest Festival on Sept. 21. The day begins early with a 5K race and continues with a car show, vendor booths, great food, a magic show and parade! Parade begins at 12 Noon from the A&A Townships Fire Barn.  

End of Summer Bash - Sept. 21
Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co presents an End of Summer Bash with lots of live music, Oktoberfest activities and more on Saturday, September 21. The fun begins at 11 am with music, games, contests and special release German-style beers! The on site Eatery will be open as well. Featured bands will include Cabin Row Band, Meager Kings Duo, Homemade Jam and Camp Creek Revival Band.

The Mooresville Eagles Lodge will host live music from the EZY Livin' Band on Saturday, September 21. Music begins at 7 pm and this show is open to the public. 

Fall on the Farm Little Red Barn Market - Sept. 21
Walker's Homestead near Martinsville will host their annual Fall on the Farm Little Red Barn Market vendor event on Sept. 21! This fun fall event will feature 70+ vendors this year, plus live music, food trucks, a petting zoo and more! Admission is $3 per person; kids age 12 and under are free. Leashed, friendly pets are welcome. Come early for a special VIP shopping hour from 9 am to 10 am, or just stop by during regular market hours from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Little Red Barn Market at Walker's Homestead hosts seasonal events such as their Christmas on the Farm in December.

Join Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co for live music from popular band Sisters Brew on Sunday, September 22. This free, all ages show will begin at 2 pm. On site eatery will be open for a late lunch, and locally crafted adult beverages will be available from the winery, brewery and distillery. 

Martinsville Talentpalooza - Sept. 23 & 30
Love seeing undiscovered talent? Here's your chance! The Music Department at Martinsville High School will host a two-night, community-wide talent show! The first evening of Talentpalooza will be open auditions on September 23, followed by the finals on September 30. All are welcome to participate, or just to enjoy! The show will take place at the Martinsville high School Auditorium. Winners of First, Second, and Third place, plus a Fan Favorite will take home cash prizes! 

Drink at the Creek Concert: Journey from the Heart - Sept. 28
It's time for another fun Drink at the Creek Concert at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Martinsville! On Saturday, September 28, enjoy the sounds of nationally-touring Journey from the Heart, a tribute experience featuring the sounds of both Journey and Heart! Music begins at 5 pm, Bring your own seating and come prepared for an evening of fun with live music, great food from both Cedar Creek and onsite food trucks. Coolers welcome; no outside alcohol allowed.

Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville will host the EZY Livin' Band for live music on Saturday, September 28. Music begins at 7 pm. Black Dog Brewing Company offers tasty dining options including flat bread  pizzas and more along with locally crafted beverages. 

Live Music: Paradise City - Sept. 28
Enjoy some late night live music at Route 67 Bar & Grill in Mooresville as Indianapolis based band Paradise City takes the stage on Saturday, September 28. Music begins at 9 pm. 21+ only. 

Apple Festival & Craft Fair - Sept. 28-29
Anderson Orchard's annual Apple Festival and Craft Fair is set to take place on September 28-29. The craft fair will run from 9 am to 5 pm, and the orchard (and concessions!) will remain open until 8 pm. The craft tent will feature 100+ local and regional crafters and artisans. While you're there, check out the store or pick your own apples or raspberries, visit the pumpkin patch and let the kids climb the giant straw pile at the playground!

Old Town Waverly Park Festival - Sept. 28-29
Morgan County Parks and Recreation once again presents the two day Old Town Waverly Park Festival on Sept. 28-29. This event features live music performances, historic reenactors, a variety of craft vendors, kids activities and live blacksmith and tinsmith demonstrations! Live Music: Phil Pierle - Sept. 29
Enjoy an afternoon of live music at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery on Sunday, September 24 with popular performer Phil Pierle. This is an all-ages, informal show with no admission charge. Performance will be outside on the stage if weather permits. The on site eatery will be open as well.
