September brings the official arrival of Fall with cooler temperatures, the beginnings of beautiful color and fun things to do throughout Morgan County! Savor the season as you enjoy a visit to one of the area's top fall attractions, dine outdoors, relax at Indiana's only winery, brewery and distillery in one location, or celebrate the changing seasons with a day at the park. Don't forget that the Centerbrook Drive-in remains open on weekends through the fall season! Whatever you choose, don't forget to check the calendar for more upcoming events, as we add them almost daily. Be sure to get the area's Fall Festivals on your calendar and don't miss those signature flavors of Fall!

Here's what's coming up throughout the month of September: 

Morgan County Farmers Market - Tuesdays & Saturdays  
This is your last full month to enjoy a visit to the Morgan County Farmers Market for fresh, locally grown veggies, fruit, meat, eggs, fresh baked goods and a variety of handcrafted items. Stop by for Tuesday Market in Mooresville from 3-7 pm or Saturday Market in Martinsville from 9 am to 1 pm.

Cruise-in on the Square - Thursdays
Come on down to the courthouse square in Martinsville for the weekly Cruise-in on the Square. This fun event draws a variety of old and new vehicles. Stroll around the inside of the square and chat with car owners, explore locally owned shops and enjoy dinner on the square. The Cruise-in takes place each Thursday evening beginning at 5 pm. 

Taps on the Square - Fridays
Join Spirit of '45 for Taps on the Square each and every Friday in downtown Martinsville. Gather at the southwest corner of the courthouse, by the flagpole. Names are read beginning at 6:50 pm, including veterans, Rosie the Riveters, law enforcement and fire fighters. Echoing Taps is played live at the seventh bell (7 pm). Live Music at Hoosier Que - Saturdays
Join Hoosier Que at Foxcliff Golf Club for live music on Saturday evenings! Typically beginning at 7 pm with a variety of locally known performers, plus tasty food and beverages available from Hoosier Que. Music on the patio when weather permits.  

Live Music at Black Dog Brewing Company - Saturdays
Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville will welcome live music from local and regional musicians on most Saturday evenings, beginning at 7 pm. Enjoy the tunes along with great food and locally-crafted beer in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. 

Live Music & Hog Roast - Sept. 1-2
Join Trackside Bar & Grill in Paragon for two days of live music and a hog roast! Coinciding with the Paragon Homecoming Festival, featured bands will be The Soul Men on Friday, Sept. 1 and Mike McCartney on Saturday, Sept. 2. Don't forget they've got great food, too! 

WOO Extreme Midgets Series - Sept. 1-2
The Paragon Speedway will host the WOO Extreme Midgets Series - a special two-day event - on September 1 and 2. Enjoy two nights of dirt track racing fun with WOO Extreme Midgets, plus 410 Sprints and Hornets. Special event pricing applies. 

Paragon Homecoming Festival - Sept. 1-3
Kick off September with the Annual Paragon Homecoming Festival on Labor Day Weekend. This year, the Homecoming will take place Sept. 1-3 with lots of live music, food vendors and fun activities to enjoy. Music on the Union Street Stage each night! Parade on Sunday.

Granny's Treasure Hunt - Sept. 2
Join A Senior Retreat for a fun day of hunting treasure around Morgan County! Explore the area during Granny's Treasure Hunt using clues released each hour as you search for a special golden ticket worth $500! Bonus clue available for those who visit A Senior Retreat's facility for lunch, provided via food truck. Advance tickets required - $25 per person. 

Drink at the Creek Concert: Country Rockin' Blues Fest - Sept. 2
Head for Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery this Labor Day Weekend for a fun day of live music with the Country Rockin' Blues Fest! On Sept. 2, Cedar Creek will welcome live music from several great bands including the Henry Lee Summer, Mellencougar, Eliminator and Jennie DeVoe, with music beginning at 2 pm. The setting is beautiful, the music will be rockin' and the beverages are always tasty. All ages are welcome. Bring your own seating.

2nd Friday Open Studios & Open Mic Night - Sept. 8
Don't miss the Art Sanctuary of Indiana's fun monthly Open Studios Night on September 8. Mingle with nearly two dozen resident artists and learn more about their work and techniques. Enjoy the exhibition of the month upstairs and Open Mic Night downstairs! Studios are open from 6-8 pm.

Monrovia Festival - Sept. 8-10
The town of Monrovia will present their annual Monrovia Festival on September 8-10. This fun, small-town festival will feature vendor booths, live music each night, a car show and even a parade! Don't miss the kids activity area. Parade begins Sunday at 3 pm.

Colonel Vawter Day - Sept. 9
Morgantown's annual Colonel Vawter Day celebration is set to take place on Sept. 9. This fun, small town festival kicks off a day full of activities with a 5K Run/Walk. Additional activities include a baking contest, car show, pet parade, art show, vendor booths, historic wagon rides, and more! Don't miss the fun kids zone. Food will be available on site.

Downtown Mooresville Street Fair - Sept. 9
Head for downtown Mooresville on September 9 for another fun Downtown Street Fair! These events feature a wide variety of vendor booths, kids activities, food trucks and more, beginning at 10 am. Come explore downtown Mooresville! (Mark your calendar for one more Street Fair in October, as the May event was rescheduled due to weather.) 

Live Music: The Daniel Milton Band - Sept. 9
Mooresville's Bicentennial Park Concert Series features an evening of outdoor music with The Daniel Milton Band. Bring your own seating. Picnics and coolers welcome, no outside alcohol allowed. Enjoy dinner before the show, or grab takeout at a local eatery to eat at the park! Music begins at 7 pm. 

Live Music: 13 Gunz - Sept. 9
Join Trackside Bar & Grill in Paragon for live music on Saturday, September 9! The night's featured band will be 13 Gunz. Don't forget they've got great food, too, so come hungry! 

Porcelain Art School of Indiana - Sept. 10-14
The Porcelain Art School of Indiana returns to the Morgan County Fairgrounds for their 2023 event on Sept. 10-14. This event brings world class instructors and students in porcelain painting to the area from around the country for a week of classes in the art of china painting. Ceramic pieces are fired on site and the public is invited to come observe the classes and see the works created. The best time to visit to see the entire process is Tuesday or Wednesday, but visitors are welcome any time. 

Downtown at Dusk - Sept. 12
Join Rediscover Martinsville for an evening of later shopping hours in downtown Martinsville! Several shops and boutiques will be open later than normal on Tuesday, Sept. 12 during Downtown at Dusk. Stop in and browse a favorite boutique to see what's new for fall, or discover a brand new-to-you local shop. 

Brooklyn Fire Department Fish Fry & Craft Fair - Sept. 16
The Brooklyn Fire Department will host their annual Fish Fry and Craft Fair event on Saturday, September 16. This fun event features great food plus handcrafted items from local vendors! Stop by and get your holiday shopping started early, or just enjoy a quick lunch. 

Eminence Harvest Festival - Sept. 16
Join the tiny town of Eminence for the annual Eminence Harvest Festival on Sept. 16. The day begins early with a 5K race and continues with a car show, vendor booths, great food, a magic show and parade! Parade begins at 12 Noon from the A&A Townships Fire Barn.  

Honey Harvest Celebration - Sept. 16
Join Hunter's Honey Farm for their 2023 Honey Harvest Celebration! Take a tour of the honey barn, visit vendor booths, enjoy tasty creations at the Honey themed concession stand and more! Kids' activities, hay rides and more will be available from 10 am to 4 pm.

Wines & Vines Container Garden Party - Sept. 16
The very popular Wines & Vines Container Garden Party event returns to Greendell Landscape Solutions in Mooresville on Sept. 16 from 11 am to 1 pm. Create a beautiful personalized container garden with help from Greendell's experts. Event cost is $60 and includes instructions, a pot, base fill, potting soil, five annuals, snacks and your first glass of wine (and a commemorative glass!) from Mallow Run Winery who will be on site. Additional annuals and embellishments are available and are sold separately. Space is limited, so sign up early! 

Drink at the Creek Concert: Rob Caudill & Cherry Bomb - Sept. 16
It's time for another fun Drink at the Creek Concert at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Martinsville! On Saturday, September 16, enjoy the sounds of Rod Steward and Joan Jett with nationally-touring tribute bands Rob Caudill and Cherry Bomb! Music begins at 5 pm, Bring your own seating and come prepared for an evening of fun with live music, great food from both Cedar Creek and onsite food trucks. Coolers welcome; no outside alcohol allowed.  

Dirt Track Racing: Paragon Classic - Sept. 16
Paragon Speedway will host a fun night of dirt track oval racing featuring the Paragon Classic on Saturday, Sept. 16. Grandstand gate opens at 3 pm. Special event pricing may apply. Pit passes available. All ages welcome. 

Morgan Co. Community Concert Series: Church of Cash - Sept. 21
The Morgan County Community Concert Association continues their 2023-24 season with the Church of Cash on September 21. This performance will take place at the Martinsville High School Auditorium, beginning at 7 pm. Church of Cash travels the country and beyond featuring the timeless sounds of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Single show tickets can be purchased online or at the door, or you can purchase a subscription to the entire Morgan County Concerts Series. 

Pairing Dinner: 3 Floyds Brewing & War Pigs Brewing - Sept. 22
Chef Matt at 21 North Eatery + Cellar is partnering with 3 Floyds Brewing and War Pigs Brewing for a very special pairing dinner on the first official day of Autumn, Friday, September 22. Get your reservations made early for this amazing menu - seating is limited to only 40 seats! 

Fall on the Farm Little Red Barn Market - Sept. 23
Walker's Homestead near Martinsville will host their annual Fall on the Farm Little Red Barn Market vendor event on Sept. 23! This fun fall event will feature 70+ vendors this year, plus live music, food trucks, a petting zoo and more! Admission is $3 per person; kids age 12 and under are free. Leashed, friendly pets are welcome. Come early for a special VIP shopping hour from 9 am to 10 am, or just stop by during regular market hours from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Little Red Barn Market at Walker's Homestead hosts seasonal events such as their Christmas on the Farm in December.

Dirt Track Racing - Sept. 23
Enjoy an evening of dirt track racing on the oval at Paragon Speedway on Saturday, September 23. This is a family-friendly night of racing. Kids under 12 are free with a paid adult admission! Pit passes available. 

Oktoberfest - Sept. 23
Cedar Creek Brewing Co presents their 2nd Annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 23. The fun begins at 1 pm with music, games, contests and special release German-style beers! The on site Eatery will be open as well. 

Saturday in the Park Movie Magic Concert - Sept. 23
The Martinsville Community Band will perform at the Downtown Martinsville performance venue at the corner of Jefferson Street and Pike Street on Saturday, September 23. The show will feature an entertaining program of music from some of your favorite movies! Bring the family, and your preferred seating and enjoy an evening of music under the stars beginning at 6 pm. This concert is free and all are welcome. 

Old Town Waverly Park Festival - Sept. 23-24
Morgan County Parks and Recreation once again presents the two day Old Town Waverly Park Festival on Sept. 24-25. This event features live music performances, historic reenactors, a variety of craft vendors, kids activities and live blacksmith and tinsmith demonstrations! Returning again for a second year is the car show on Sunday beginning at 10:30 am. Don't miss our list of 12 Reasons to Attend

Live Music: Phil Pierle - Sept. 24
Enjoy an afternoon of live music at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery on Sunday, September 24 with popular performer Phil Pierle. This is an all-ages, informal show with no admission charge. Performance will be outside on the stage if weather permits. Cedar Creek Eatery will be open as well. 

Morgan in Motion 5K Run/Walk - Sept. 27
Join the YMCA of Morgan County for their monthly free 5K walk/run series, Morgan in Motion! This fun and free event travels around the county to different locations throughout the season. September's race will take place at the League of Miracles Field in Mooresville. This event is open to all ages and begins at 6 pm. All are welcome. 

Live Music: Blue Eyes & Grey Skies Band - Sept. 29
Enjoy an afternoon of live music at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery on Friday, September 29 with poplar local band Blue Eyes & Grey Skies. This is an all-ages, informal show with no admission charge. Performance will be outside on the stage if weather permits. Cedar Creek Eatery will be open as well. 

Dirt Track Racing: Amati Classic - Sept. 30
Paragon Speedway presents the annual Chuck Amati Classic on Saturday, September 30. Come on out and enjoy an evening of racing on the historic dirt track oval. The Amati Classic will feature 68 laps and featured cars for the night will include 410 Sprints, Super Stocks, Bombers and Hornets. 

Apple Festival & Craft Fair - Sept. 30 & Oct. 1
Anderson Orchard's annual Apple Festival and Craft Fair is set to take place on September 30 and October 1. The craft fair will run from 9 am to 5 pm, and the orchard (and concessions!) will remain open until 8 pm. The craft tent will feature 100+ local and regional crafters and artisans. While you're there, check out the store or pick your own apples or raspberries, visit the pumpkin patch and let the kids climb the giant straw pile at the playground!
