September brings the arrival of Fall with cooler temperatures, the beginnings of beautiful color and tons of fun festivals and special events throughout Morgan County! Savor the season as you enjoy a visit to one of the area's top fall attractions, dine outdoors, relax at Indiana's only winery, brewery and distillery in one location, or celebrate the changing seasons with a day at the park. Whatever you choose, don't forget to check the calendar for upcoming festivals and special events. Here's what's coming up throughout the month of September: 

Link Observatory Space Science Institute Programs
Join the experts from this NASA affiliated space science institute for three monthly programs perfect for anyone who'd like to learn more about space. On the first Saturday of the month (Sept. 1), Link Observatory hosts Open Observation hours beginning at 8:30 pm. On Thursday, Sept. 13, the Observatory is open during daylight hours for you to explore. On September 15, join them at the Mooresville Public Library for a LinkLive Presentation on a specific topic, followed by observatory viewing. 

94th Annual Paragon Homecoming Festival
Kick off September with the 94th Annual Paragon Homecoming Festival on Labor Day Weekend. This small town tradition features live music, food vendors, carnival rides, games, activities and more! This year's music line up includes The Band Pure Country, The Blue River Band, The Eddie VanZant Band.

Reinvention Fall Open House
Come out to visit one of downtown Martinsville's newest retail shops for their first ever Fall Open House on Sept. 1. Located on North Main Street, Reinvention features beautifully reimagined furniture pieces, home decor and more. Shop for fall themed items as you enjoy refreshments and door prizes from 11 am to 5 pm. 

Austin Beliles & Hannah Sexton at the Main Street Stage
Tom Fiddlery presents the reunion of Austin and Hannah, formerly of Wrong Side of Dixie! On Sept. 1, the Main Street Stage welcomes this fun duo for an early show at 6 pm with dinner available from The WaffleWhitch, followed by a later show at 8 pm. All ages are welcome and admission is only $15. 

Monrovia Festival
Monrovia welcomes you on Sept. 7-9 for their annual Monrovia Festival! Enjoy lots of great food, live music, games, vendor booths, and so much more. Don't forget about the parade, which takes place on Sunday at 3 pm. 

8 Track Mind at Bicentennial Park
Mooresville's Summer Concert Series at Bicentennial Park continues through the month of September! On Sept 8, join them for 8 Track Mind, featuring classic rock sounds. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy the evening in Downtown Mooresville! Must starts at 7 pm. 

Split Rail at The Main Street Stage
Tom Fiddlery is bringing regional favorite Split Rail to the Main Street Stage on Sept. 8. One of Morgan County's favorite local groups, Split Rail will perform two shows - the early show at 6 pm with dinner available from a local eatery, and the later show at 8 pm. Doors open a half hour before show time, all ages are welcome. Admission is $15. 

Porcelain Art School of Indiana
This unique event is celebrating their second year in Morgan County! Bringing renowned porcelain art instructors from around the world together with students from around the country, the Porcelain Art School of Indiana will take place at the Morgan County Fairgrounds on Sept. 10-14. As part of the school, the public is welcome to come observe this creative process.

No Cover Songwriters Showcase
This month's No Cover Songwriter's Showcase will take place on Sept. 13. This fun local and regional showcase features local and regional singer songwriters each month at Zydeco's Cajun in downtown Mooresville. Must starts at 5 pm. 

2nd Friday Open Studios Night
Don't miss the Art Sanctuary of Indiana's fun monthly Open Studios Night on Sept. 14. Mingle with nearly two dozen resident artists and learn more about their work and techniques. Enjoy the exhibition of the month upstairs and Open Mic Night downstairs! Studios are open from 6-9 pm.

Eminence Harvest Festival
Come out for this fun small town celebration. Eminence welcomes one and all on Sept. 15 for their annual Harvest Festival. This year's event features a 5K run/walk, a peach baking contest, craft vendors, garden tractor pulls, a tractor and car show and more - even a parade!

Hunter's Honey Farm Fall Harvest Celebration
Once the honey harvest is complete, Hunter's Honey Farm invites the public in to help them celebrate with their annual Fall Harvest Celebration on Sept. 15. The event always features honey-themed concessions, free tours of the honey barn, pony rides, vendor booths, kids activities and more. 

Colonel Vawter Day
Morgantown invites you to join them for the annual Colonel Vawter Day on Sept. 15! This annual small town festival celebrates one of the community's early residents and always features lots of great food, vendor booths, fun activities, a car show, live performances and of course a parade. 

Rock the Block
Downtown Martinsville plans to Rock the Block on Sept. 22. There will be live music from the MLE Band, great food and drink from 21 North Eatery and of course, the beautiful atmosphere of downtown. Jefferson Street will be closed for this event and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the evening. 

The Woomblies Rock Orchestra
On Sept. 22, Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery will welcome The Woomblies Rock Orchestra for this month's Drink at the Creek Concert! The setting is beautiful, the performance is free (there is a $10 per vehicle parking fee) and the beverages are always tasty. All ages are welcome. 

Spank & Mikey at Bicentennial Park
The final Bicentennial Park Summer Concert will be held on Sept. 22, featuring Spank and Mikey, featuring country, folk and bluegrass tunes. Don't forget your blankets or lawn chairs as you come out to enjoy this final summer concert. Music begins at 7 pm.

Zion Baptist Fellowship Church Craft Fair
Craft fair season is now upon us! Join the Zion Baptist Fellowship Church for their annual craft fair on Sept. 22, where you'll find a variety of vendors with handcrafted items. There are both indoor and outdoor booths to browse through, from 9 am to 3 pm.

Waverly Park Festival
Morgan County Parks and Recreation once again presents the two day Waverly Park Festival on Sept. 22-23. This event features live music performances, historic reenactors, a variety of craft vendors, kids activities and live blacksmith and tinsmith demonstrations! Be sure to try your hand at tomahawk throwing while you're there. 

Chili Cookoff & Chalk Art Contest
The Martinsville Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual Chili Cookoff and Chalk Art Contest at The Main Connection on Sept. 29. Attendees are welcome to taste chili from more than a dozen teams and vote for people's choice! All ages are encouraged to participate in the chalk art contest portion of the event as well. Prizes are awarded by age group. 

Mooresville Arts Car, Truck & Bike Show
On Sept. 29, come out to see the beautiful cars, trucks and motorcycles on display at the annual Car, Truck and Bike Show held on the grounds of the Mooresville Arts Partnership. This show is free for spectators and there will be food on site as well as kids activities, a silent auction and live music. 

Doug Lawson at the Main Street Stage
Another great show from Tom Fiddlery at the Main Street Stage! On Sept. 29 they will welcome Doug Lawson to the stage for two shows - the 6 pm show will also feature dinner available from a local eatery, followed by the 8 pm show. Admission is $15 per person. 

Apple Festival & Craft Fair
Anderson Orchard's annual Apple Festival and Craft Fair will take place Sept 29-30. This fun annual event features more than 50 craft vendors, as well as live music and all the fun of a visit to the orchard. Be sure to enjoy the concessions stand while you're there - we recommend a cider slush!
