September brings the official arrival of Fall with slightly cooler temperatures, the beginnings of beautiful color and fun things to do throughout Morgan County! Savor the season as you enjoy a visit to one of the area's top fall attractions, dine outdoors, relax at Indiana's only winery, brewery and distillery in one location, or celebrate the changing seasons with a day at the park. Don't forget that the Centerbrook Drive-in remains open on weekends throughout the fall season!

Here's what's coming up throughout the month of September:
Daily - Downtown Mooresville Passport
Pick up a passport, then, go shopping! Any time you make a purchase from a participating business in Downtown Mooresville, you'll get a stamp on your passport. Once you've collected five stamps (must be from five different businesses), simply turn in your card at a listed shop or restaurant, and you’ll be entered to win one of several $50 weekly prizes — and the Grand Prize, worth $500! A winner is chosen each week. The last day of the promotion will be Small Business Saturday (Nov 29), and after all the entries are collected, a Grand Prize winner will be drawn at random! (Multiple entries are welcome.)
Mondays - Pioneer Pathfinders Walk
Meet at Pioneer Park, every Monday for this casual walk around the park. Locals and visitors are all welcome to participate in this public health and fitness initiative. Meet at Shelter #2, walk begins at 9 am.
Tuesdays & Saturdays - Morgan County Farmers Market
Join area growers and crafters at the Farmers Market each week through September. Tuesday Market takes place at the Friends Church in Mooresville from 3 to 7 pm and Saturday Market takes place at The Main Connection in Martinsville from 9 am to 1 pm. Vendors feature locally grown veggies, eggs, meat and handcrafted items such as jewelry, soaps, candles, woodcrafts and more. There are frequently live music performances during the market as well! Mark your calendar for their Chili Cookoff and Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 27!
Wednesdays - Martinsville in Motion City Walk
All are welcome to participate in this local health and fitness initiative in downtown Martinsville. Enjoy a stroll around the community every Wednesday at Noon. There are three routes with varying distances. Meet up outside of Churches in Mission on Pike Street.
Thursdays in September - Grand Valley Food Truck Rally
Grand Valley Gardens invites you to join them on Thursdays in September, from 11 am to 2 pm for the Grand Valley Food Truck Rally! They'll be welcoming several yummy options to their convenient location just off of Grand Valley Boulevard so both residents and visitors can enjoy lunch from local food truck vendors in the (hopefully) beautiful September weather. Trucks will be located in the rear parking lot, behind the facility.
Thursdays, April-October - Martinsville Cruise-in on the Square
Join the fun with a variety of vintage cars each Thursday evening in downtown Martinsville. Beginning at 5 pm, cars, trucks and other vehicles begin arriving on Jefferson Street for the Martinsville Cruise-in, a weekly event that creates a fun and festive atmosphere for anyone who enjoys looking at cool vehicles, and chatting with the owners. The convenient location on the east side of the downtown square offers easy walking access to multiple downtown restaurants and other businesses.
Fridays - Taps on the Square
Each and every Friday evening on the courthouse square, watch and listen as American heroes are honored with Taps on the Square. This weekly event has taken place without fail since December, 2012. During the courthouse renovation project, the location of Taps on the Square will shift to the southeast corner of the square near the Morgan County Veterans Memorial at the corner of Washington and Jefferson Streets. Names are read beginning at 6:55 pm and live, rolling Taps is sounded at the the seventh bell by the Indiana Spirit of '45 Buglers. This is truly an experience - even those enjoying outdoor dining at area restaurants or walking down the street will pause in respect for this weekly Morgan County tradition.
Sept. 2 - Studio PH.D Class: Sawing & Piercing Skills
Join jewelry artist Pam Hurst for these fun classes on how to create beautiful pieces of art you can wear! Studio PhD offers skills classes, make and take classes, and advanced classes (some do require prerequisites). There are typically several classes offered per month, and space is limited, so don't wait! Information on this month's scheduled classes and online registration available at thesterlingbutterfly.com. This class will focus on the skills of sawing and piercing, and is one of the five prerequisites for more advanced courses.
Sept. 2 - Nature Night: Health Benefits of Nature
Martinsville Parks and Recreation will host Nature Nights at Jimmy Nash City Park, April through October! Each Nature Night will have a different theme or topic to learn about. All Nature Nights will begin at 6:30 pm. Program will last approximately 1 hour. All ages welcome! Free. September's program will feature Sam Whiteleather from the Indiana DNR, who will lead a short hike and highlight the benefits spending time in nature. Meet at Shelter #1.
Sept. 3 - Nature Journaling Workshop
Join the Morgan County Soil & Water Conservation District at Burkart Creek Park to learn more about nature journaling! Meet at the shelter house near the playground on Friday, Sept. 3, at 5 pm for this free program. Basic supplies will be provided, but please bring your own art supplies if you have them.
Sept. 3 - Free Summer Concert: Flannel Jane
Martinsville's downtown performance venue will be rockin' on Thursday, September 3 with the sounds of the 90's, as Flannel Jane takes the stage! This is a free show and all are welcome. Music begins at 7 pm. Food trucks and adult beverages available on site. Bring your own seating. Coolers welcome; no outside alcohol.
Sept. 4-6 - 2026 Paragon Homecoming Festival
The small town of Paragon invites you to join them for their annual Paragon Homecoming Festival! The event is held on Union Street, always on Labor Day Weekend, and feature live music each evening, carnival games, kiddie rides, a community wide yard sale, car show, performances from Barn Yard Pals, and so much more! Sept. 4 - Movie at The MET: Rudy
See the classic Indiana based film Rudy, detailing the true story of a Notre Dame football player with a dream, on Sept. 4 at the Martinsville Entertainment Theatre in the heart of downtown Martinsville. Movie begins at 7 pm; doors open one hour before showtime.
Sept. 5 - Torchlight Free Kids' Movie: The Super Mario Bros Movie
Join Torchlight Cinema in Mooresville for this month's screening of the 2026 Kids' Movie Series. A different children's movie is featured each month, with The Super Mario Bros Movie on Sept. 5. Doors open at 9:30 am, movie begins at 10 am. This series benefits local charity, Churches in Mission. Admission is FREE with the donation of a non-perishable food or personal hygiene item, or any free-will donation. Sponsored by PDS Connect.
Sept. 5 - Drink at the Creek: Henry Lee Summer, Mellencougar, & Brandon Santini
It's time for another fun Drink at the Creek Concert at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Martinsville, and they always go big for Labor Day Weekend with three performers instead of the normal two! Note the earlier start time at 5 pm, Taking the stage will be Indiana native Henry Lee Summer, a tribute another Indiana native rocker with Mellencougar, and Brandon Santini, with his unique American roots rock and blues sound. Sept. 6 - Live Music: The 78s
Join Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co for live music from The 78s on Sunday, September 6. This free, all ages show will begin at 2 pm. On site eatery will be open for a late lunch, and locally crafted adult beverages will be available from the winery, brewery and distillery.
Sept. 8 - Pollinator Walk
Join the Morgan County Soil & Water Conservation District for a pollinator walk at Burkart Creek Park on Tuesday, Sept. 8, beginning at 5 pm. Meet at the shelter house near the playground and enjoy a guided nature walk that highlights our native pollinators and other beneficial insects that call the park home. This is a free program.
Sept. 8 - Cruise-in at Home Market
The Martinsville-based Tread Trimmers Car Club will host a Cruise-in event at Home Market on Morgan Street, west of the downtown square in Martinsville, from 5 to 9 pm. All classic cars, hot rods, trucks are welcome to attend, as are all spectators!
Sept. 10 - Free Summer Concert: Cook & Belle
Head for Pioneer Park on Thursday, Sept. 10 for a special free live music event featuring Cook & Belle, who will take the stage at 7 pm. All ages are welcome. Food and beverages will be available on site, but picnics are also welcome. No outside alcohol.
Sept. 11 - September 11, 2001 Remembrance Ceremony
The Martinsville Fire Department invites you to join them for a solemn ceremony on the morning of September 11 to honor the memory of those lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Both first responders and civilians will be honored during the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 8:40 am on the front lawn of the Martinsville Fire Department, 160 W. Morgan Street.
Sept. 11 - Open Studios Night & Open Mic Night
Don't miss the Art Sanctuary of Indiana's fun monthly Open Studios Night on September 11. Mingle with nearly two dozen resident artists and learn more about their work and techniques. Enjoy the exhibition of the month in the main gallery! Studios are open from 6 to 9 pm.

Sept. 11-13 - Monrovia Festival
The town of Monrovia will present their annual Monrovia Festival on September 11-13. It starts off with the Alma Smock Memorial Art show opening, Vendors and Entertainment Friday evening. Saturday is filled with many events including Cow Patty Bingo, Tractor Drawing, Kiddie Tractor Pull, petting zoo, along with many food and other vendors. Live entertainment each evening! Sept. 12 - Colonel Vawter Day
Morgantown's annual Colonel Vawter Day celebration is set to take place on Sept. 12. This fun, small town festival kicks off a day full of activities with a 5K Run/Walk. Additional activities include a baking contest, car show, pet parade, art show, vendor booths, historic wagon rides, and more! Don't miss the fun kids zone. Food will be available on site.
Sept. 12 - Big Green Egg Cookout
Stop by Ace Hardware in Martinsville for lunch during the Big Green Egg Cookout, which benefits local charity Stability First. Delicious options straight off those Big Green Eggs will be available from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, or until they run out. Menu typically includes brats, pork burgers, pulled pork, grilled cheese with pork, hot dogs, and even chili!
Sept. 12 - 8th Annual Adult Spelling Bee
The Morgan County Coalition for Literacy presents their 8th Annual Adult Spelling Bee on Saturday, September 12 at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana in Martinsville, beginning at 2 pm. Cost to participate is only $25 for a team of two spellers (there is a limit of 10 teams, so register early to participate). The event is FREE for spectators!
Sept. 12 - Names Not Numbers: Rise & Recover
Local nonprofit organization Stability First invites all to join them for their annual event, Names Not Numbers: Rise & Recover, on September 12 at The Venue in Downtown Martinsville, beginning at 5 pm. This free, family-friendly event is an evening of hope, healing, and community that celebrates recovery and honors those lost to addiction. Food vendors will be on site.

Sept. 12 - Dirt Track Racing: Roller Randy Rumble, 410 Sprints, Super Stocks, Bombers, & Hornets
The Paragon Speedway has been home to fast-paced, exciting race night action since the 1950's, and they're still going strong today. Bring the whole family for a fun night at the races, from April through early October. The Roller Randy Rumble, originally scheduled for June 27 has been rescheduled for September 12, when the racetrack will welcome 410 Sprints, Super Stock, Bomber, Hornets. Pits open at 3 pm; Grandstand opens at 5 pm; Racing at 6:30 pm.

Sept. 13-17 - Porcelain Art School of Indiana
The Porcelain Art School of Indiana returns to the Morgan County Fairgrounds for their 2026 event on Sept. 13-17. This event brings world class instructors and students in porcelain painting to the area from around the country for a week of classes in the art of china painting. Ceramic pieces are fired on site and the public is invited to come observe the classes and see the works created. The best time to visit to see the entire process is Tuesday or Wednesday, but visitors are welcome any time.
Sept. 13 - Landersdale Trail Community Walk
Join Morgan County Park Board Members as you explore one of Morgan County's treasures with a scenic walk along the Landersdale Trail between Mooresville and Camby on Sunday, September 13 at 2 pm. Meet other community members, talk with members of the Morgan County Park Board, and enjoy the trail!
Sept. 13 - FFF Fall Purse Bingo
Join the Fall Foliage Festival organizing committee for this fun spring event at the American Legion Post #230 in Martinsville. Cost is $45 per ticket, for which you receive admission to the event, a door prize ticket, 16 games of bingo and tasty snacks. Raffle tickets available for additional charge. Table reservations are available for groups of 6 or more. Must be 18+. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Sept. 13 - Walneck's Motorcycle Parts Swap Meet

Join Producer, Lead Investigator and New Jersey Native Mike Familant at the Mooresville Public Library on Thursday, September 24, as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America’s most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot. Sept. 25 - VFW Post 1257 Steak n Fish Dinner & Reva Brummett
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1257 in Martinsville hosts a steak n fish dinner on the fourth Friday of each month at their location, 1000 Josephine Street, from 6 to 8 pm. This monthly event is open to the public and sometimes is followed by live music (this month from Reva Brummett), from 7 to 9 pm.
Sept. 26-27 - Apple Festival & Craft Fair
Join Anderson Orchard in Mooresville for their annual Apple Festival and Craft Show! This is a rain or shine event. The orchard, including concessions, is open from 8 am to 8 pm (or dark, whichever comes first). The crafter tent, featuring 75+ local and regional crafters and artisans is open from 9 am to 5 pm. Pick your own apples or raspberries while you're there!
Sept. 26-27 - Old Town Waverly Park Festival
The annual Old Town Waverly Festival includes demonstrations and reenactments of Backwoodsman, Blacksmithing, weaving, competitions, live music and more. View historical items located in the Waverly Museum which was the Old Town Waverly Bank building or wander and enjoy the antique tractor display and vendor booths. Old Town Waverly Park is a place to re-connect with nature and history. Stop by on Saturday, from 9 am to 6 pm or Sunday, from 10:30 am to 4 pm.
Sept. 26 - Drink at the Creek Concert: The Woomblies Rock Orchestra & Atom Heart Mother
It's time for another fun Drink at the Creek Concert at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Martinsville! Sept. 27 - Kids Day & Craft Fair
Anderson Orchard will host a special kids day featuring young entrepreneurs on September 27! Browse through kids' craft fair booths, from 1 to 4 pm. While you're there, enjoy pony rides, a magician, human hampster balls, bounce houses and more! Food truck on site and concessions will be open.
Sept. 27 - Tom Fiddlery Fall Student Showcase
The Martinsville Entertainment Theatre will welcome to the students of Tom Fiddlery to the stage on Sunday, September 27, where they will perform everything from toe-tapping bluegrass and classic country favorites to rock anthems, pop hits, and beautiful classical pieces. Music begins at 2 pm; doors open one hour before showtime.
Sept. 30 - Morgan in Motion 5K Run/Walk:
Join the YMCA of Morgan County for the Morgan in Motion 5K Run/Walk Series on the last Wednesday of each month, April through October. Each month, the run/walk takes place at a different location within the county, featuring parks and camps. This is a free, family-friendly event. Race begins at 6 pm.
Sept. 30 - Tread Trimmers Monthly Cruise-in at Culver's
The Martinsville-based Tread Trimmers Car Club hosts a monthly cruise-in on the last Wednesday of each month at the Culver's located on Ohio Street in Martinsville. All are welcome, from 5 to 8 pm. Come enjoy an evening of cool cars, burgers, and frozen custard!
