Each season features it's own unique sights, sounds and yes, even tastes. It's one of the highlights of living in the Midwest - we get to experience all four seasons in all their glory. We're even willing to put up with the cold, snowy winter weather in exchange for the seasonal experiences of spring, summer and what seems like everyone's favorite season, fall. Here's our list of the must-have flavors of fall from around Morgan County, and where you can find them! (We do recommend that you call ahead to verify availability if your heart is set on a certain flavor, as not all items are available daily.)
Pumpkin and Pumpkin-Cinnamon Scones (& Muffins)
Find them at Bran N Shorts Coffee House in Mooresville and sometimes at Sara's Goodies in Martinsville.
Persimmon Pudding
Find it (both popular varieties!) at the Martinsville Candy Kitchen in Martinsville.
Caramel Dipped Apples
Find them (with or without nuts) at the Martinsville Candy Kitchen in Martinsville, or at Anderson Orchard in Mooresville.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Find it at The Local Grind or Sara's Goodies in Martinsville, Farm House Brew in Monrovia, Bran N Shorts in Mooresville or Brewed Awakenings Cafe in Morgantown. This is often a seasonal flavor, so check with each location to see exactly when it's available.
Fresh Apple Cider
Find it (hot, cold or frozen slushies) at Anderson's Orchard, located in Mooresville. While you're there, enjoy the play area, take a walk through the orchard and pick some apples, raspberries or a pumpkin!
Caramel Puff Corn & other Honey-flavored Snacks
Find them at Hunter's Honey Farm in Martinsville. If you'd like to enjoy a honey tour while you're there, be sure to call ahead! (Be sure to get some honey sticks for later, too.)
Pumpkin Pie
Find it (and several other varieties of pie) at Gray Brothers Cafeteria in Mooresville.
Harvest Moon Ice Wine, Pumpkin Ale & Pumpkin Moonshine
Find them at Cedar Creek Winery Brew Co. and Distillery in Martinsville. Ask about other fall flavors both at Cedar Creek and at Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville. (Fair warning - these always sell out QUICK! Call ahead for release dates and availability.)
