Daily - Fall Color!
We're already seeing some very early signs of fall color in the area, and we expect peak color to hit late in October this year. Plan your visit accordingly if you've got leaf-peeping plans. (Here are some suggestions for where to peep.)
Mondays - Pioneer Pathfinders Walk
Meet at Pioneer Park, every Monday for this casual walk around the park. Locals and visitors are all welcome to participate in this public health and fitness initiative. Meet at Shelter #2, walk begins at 9 am.
Tuesdays & Saturdays - Morgan County Farmers Market
Join area growers and crafters at the Farmers Market each week through September. Tuesday Market takes place at the Friends Church in Mooresville from 3 to 7 pm and Saturday Market takes place at The Main Connection in Martinsville from 9 am to 1 pm. Vendors feature locally grown veggies, eggs, meat and handcrafted items such as jewelry, soaps, candles, woodcrafts and more. There are frequently live music performances during the market as well!
Wednesdays - Martinsville in Motion City Walk
All are welcome to participate in this local health and fitness initiative in downtown Martinsville. Enjoy a stroll around the community every Wednesday at Noon. There are three routes with varying distances. Meet up outside of Churches in Mission on Pike Street.
Thursdays - Downtown Martinsville Cruise-in on the Square
Join the fun with a variety of vintage cars each Thursday evening in downtown Martinsville. Beginning at 5 pm, cars, trucks and other cool vehicles begin arriving for the Martinsville Cruise-in, a weekly event that creates a fun and festive atmosphere along Jefferson Street - perfect for anyone looking for a great place to enjoy a chat with vehicle owners. The downtown location means you're also close to locally owned eateries, shops and more. This is the final month for this year's Cruise-in, which will return again in April of 2027.
Fridays - Taps on the Square
Each and every Friday evening on the courthouse square, watch and listen as American heroes are honored with Taps on the Square. This weekly event has taken place without fail since December, 2012. During the courthouse renovation project, the location of Taps on the Square will shift to the southeast corner of the square near the Morgan County Veterans Memorial at the corner of Washington and Jefferson Streets. Names are read beginning at 6:55 pm and live, rolling Taps is sounded at the the seventh bell by the Indiana Spirit of '45 Buglers. This is truly an experience - even those enjoying outdoor dining at area restaurants or walking down the street will pause in respect for this weekly Morgan County tradition.
Oct. 1 - Community Concert: The 70s Show starring Jim Witter
The Morgan County Community Concerts Association presents the kickoff event for their 2026-2027 season. Join them at the Martinsville High School Auditorium for a fun 1970s house party experience with all your favorite music from the era. Single show tickets (or season subscriptions) are available online or at the door.
Oct. 1 - FREE Summer Concert: BIGG Country
Enjoy a free outdoor concert at The Venue in Downtown Martinsville on Thursday, October 1. The featured performer will be BIGG Country, who will take the stage at 7 pm. Food and drink available on site and from local eateries located around the square. All ages welcome. Bring your own seating. Come early to check out the Cruise-in on the Square on Jefferson Street!
RESCHEDULED to Oct. 9 - Jimmy Nash Pumpkin Patch
Jimmy Nash City Park in Martinsville will once again host a Pumpkin Patch event for families to enjoy the fall season at the park on October 2. The first 200 kids age 16 and younger can choose a pumpkin from the patch (while supplies last). Kids of all ages can enjoy additional activities including games, face painting and more. This is a free event and all are welcome.
Oct. 2 - Live Music: Ben Tatum
Come out and enjoy some live music along with an amazing meal (or drinks and appetizers) at 1915 Steakhouse & Bar, one of Martinsville's newer eateries. Area musician Ben Tatum will be there to entertain you, beginning at 6 pm.
Oct. 2 - Movie at The MET: The Lost Boys
The Martinsville Entertainment Theatre will screen the popular vampire flick The Lost Boys, from the late 80s, starring Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, "the Coreys," and more! The movie begins at 7 pm; doors open at 6 pm. Concessions available on site. Admission is just $5.
RESCHEDULED to Oct. 9 - Movie Under the Stars: Remember the Titans
Prefer your movies under the stars? Not quite ready for spooky season? No problem - revel in the Friday Night Lights theme of Remember the Titans at this special outdoor screening at Jimmy Nash City Park in Martinsville. Concessions available on site and all proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County. Wear your favorite football team gear! Movie starts at 8 pm.
Oct. 3-25 - Fall Petting Zoo at Anderson Orchard
Join Anderson Orchard in Mooresville for a Fall Petting Zoo experience provided by Barnyard Party Pals! Animals will be on site, Oct.3-25. This event overlaps with their annual Fall Break Activities as well, so double check those dates if you want to experience both (or if you want to enjoy a quieter animal experience while the "big kids" are in school! All the fun of an orchard visit included - play area with giant straw pile, pick your own apples, berries, and pumpkins, on site concessions (including apple slushies), and more!
Oct. 3 - Torchlight FREE Kids' Movie Series: Hotel Transylvania
Join Torchlight Cinema in Mooresville for the October installment of their FREE Kids' Movie Series on October 3, featuring the fun film Hotel Transylvania! This monthly series features a different kids' film each month. Admission is a donation to Churches in Mission - non-perishable food or hygiene items are welcome; cash donations also accepted. Doors open at 9:30am; show begins at 10 am. Concessions available on site.
Oct. 3 - Drink at the Creek: Hairbangers Ball & The Big 80s
Outdoor concert season's not over yet at The Creek! Enjoy live music with regional favorites Hairbangers Ball and The Big 80s on the stage at Cedar Creek Winery, Brew Co and Distillery, beginning at 6 pm on Saturday, October 3. As always, there will be plenty of locally crafted beverages available, as well as food options on site - this show brings you the tasty goodness of the Big Green Egg Fest! The Big Green Eggs will arrive from Ace Hardware in Martinsville as the featured food vendor - proceeds benefit local non-profit Stability First. . Bring your own seating. All ages welcome.

Oct. 3 - Books & Brushes
Fables and Fairy Tales is teaming up with The Glazed Gypsy Studio & Boutique to bring you this fun ceramic workshop, plus shopping deals! That's right, create your own work of art, choosing from three options provided by The Glazed Gypsy, AND browse the shelves at Fables and Fairy Tales with a great 15% offer, storewide! Oct. 3 - Movie at The MET: Young Frankenstein
Enjoy an evening of hilarious mad science, outrageous characters, unforgettable one-liners, and that classic Mel Brooks style, as the Martinsville Entertainment Theatre presents the 1974 comedy masterpiece Young Frankenstein on Saturday, October 3. Oct. 6 - Martinsville Children's Honor Choir
Come enjoy a fun (and adorable) performance from the Martinsville Children's Honor Choir, made up of students at all of the MSD of Martinsville's elementary schools who excel at both music and academics! The kids will be joined by the Martinsville High School's Mbassadors Advance Choir and Mprov Vocal Jazz Choir. Performance takes place at the Martinsville High School Auditorium and all are welcome. Show time is 7 pm. Admission is free.
Oct. 7 - Martinsville High School Choir Fall Concert
The Martinsville High School Choir Program will present their Fall Concert at the Martinsville High School Auditorium on Wednesday, October 7, beginning at 7 pm. This performance will feature the following choirs: Mbark Beginning Choir, Mpact Trebel Choir, Mbassadors Advanced Choir, and Mprov Vocal Jazz Choir. Come enjoy an evening of vocal performance. Admission is free.
Oct. 8-11 - Morgan County Fall Foliage Festival
This annual four-day festival is a Martinsville tradition! The Fall Foliage Festival will temporarily relocate to the Morgan County Fairgrounds again this year due to an ongoing renovation project on the courthouse square. Enjoy carnival rides, vendor booths, a 5K run/walk, bed races, art exhibit, car show, live music and so much more! The festival takes place October 8-11. The Fall Foliage Festival Parade steps off at 1 pm on Sunday. Schedule available on our blog.
Oct. 9 - 2nd Friday Open Studios & Open Mic Night
October's monthly Open Studios Night at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana will feature the a special Fall Art Show, which will also be on display throughout the month. Stop in and visit with resident artists on October 9 from 6 to 9 pm and enjoy Open Mic Night in the downstairs gallery as well! This is a free event and all are welcome.

Oct. 11 - 8th Annual Wheels for Veterans Car Truck & Motorcycle Show
The Mooresville Fraternal Order of Eagles presents their 8th Annual Wheels for Veterans Car Truck & Motorcycle Show on Sunday, October 11. This car show benefits area veterans organizations including the Honor Flight Network. Registration begins at 9 am with awards at 2 pm. Enjoy live music, door prizes and refreshments on site.
Oct. 12-16 - Fall Break Festivities at Anderson Orchard
Join Anderson Orchard for this year's installment of fun Fall Break Festivities, October 12-16. The orchard is open from 8 am to dark each day and activities will include a petting zoo, face painting, hay rides, on site concessions, fun activities, and the Gumption Chef Food Truck! All normal orchard activities will be available as well, including the playground and giant straw pile, u-pick apples and raspberries and of course, cider slushies!
Oct. 13 - Tread Trimmers Car Club Cruise in at Home Market
The Tread Trimmers Car Club, based in Martinsville, invites fellow car enthusiasts to join them on October 13 for their monthly Cruise in event at Home Market, located on West Morgan Street in Martinsville. Cars arrive between 5 and 8 pm. All classic cars, trucks, hot rods, etc. are welcome for this monthly event on the second Tuesday of each month, weather permitting.

Oct. 16 - Concert at The Depot: Taylor Hernly
Join singer songwriter Taylor Hernly for an fun show at The Depot Theatre in Martinsville on Friday, October 16. This popular area performer will be playing live on stage in an intimate acoustic setting. Tickets will be $10 per person with limited availability (venue seats approximately 50). Oct. 17 - RESCHEDULED Drink at the Creek: Family Tradition (Hank Jr.) & Eliminator (ZZ Top)
Way back in the summer, this fun concert was postponed due to inclement weather, so come on out on October 17 to enjoy live music on the stage at Cedar Creek Winery, Brew Co and Distillery, beginning at 6 pm. Break out your boots, because this concert will feature the music of the one and only Hank Williams, Jr, through nationally-touring tribute band Family Tradition, along with opening act Eliminator, bringing the sounds of ZZ Top to the Drink at the Creek stage! Oct. 18 - FREE Concert: Gospel Fest featuring Downpour
Enjoy a special live music event in downtown Martinsville on Sunday, October 18 with the final Downtown Martinsville Free Concert of the season. This fall Gospel Fest concert features several local gospel groups, plus featured band DownPour. Attendees will enjoy live music beginning at 2 pm at The Venue in downtown Martinsville. Oct. 22 - Titles & Tastes: A Book & Wine Pairing Event
This event is a fun collaboration between Cedar Creek Winery & Eatery and our favorite independent book shop, Fables & Fairy Tales! Enjoy an intimate evening of wine tasting and book shopping on Thursday, October 22 from 5 to 7 pm. Titles & Tastes: A Book & Wine Pairing Event will feature wine tasting, a glass of your favorite variety and the opportunity to shop a specially hand-picked selection of books, including their popular "blind date books." The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1257 in Martinsville hosts a steak n fish dinner on the fourth Friday of each month at their location, 1000 Josephine Street. Meal choices are steak, baked potato, and salad for $20 per plate or fish, fries, and cole slaw for $15 per plate. This monthly event is open to the public and sometimes is followed by live music, from 8 to 10 pm.

Oct. 24 - Cedar Creek Haunted Wine Run 5K
Join Cedar Creek Winery on Saturday, October 25 for the Cedar Creek Wine Run 5K! The race begins at 9 am and the course features the gorgeous scenic views of Cedar Creek Winery. Come experience Indiana's only Winery, Brewery & Distillery all in once location. Whether you're looking to run, walk, or just enjoy the wine, this race is a sure thing for a great time and an incredible experience. This race is timed and scored by J3 Timing. Registration available online and includes a t-shirt, shatterproof portable wine glass, finisher medal, race bib and of course, a pour of wine!
Oct. 24 - Corinth Baptist Church Annual Craft Fair
The Craft Club at Corinth Baptist Church will host their annual Craft Fair at the Church on Plano Road on Saturday, October 24, from 9 am to 3 pm. They'll have a wide variety of locally crafted items, and a homemade lunch with be available on site as well!
Oct. 24 - Mooresville Arts-a-palooza & Car Show
Join the Mooresville Arts Partnership for their annual Arts-a-palooza juried arts fair and car show on Saturday, October 24, from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is FREE, and there will be live musical entertainment on site as well as plein air painting, make-and-take activities for the kids, local vendors, and more!
Oct. 24 - Meet the Author: Kimberly Hoffman
Fables and Fairy Tales invites you to come and meet author Kimberly Hoffman on Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 3 pm. Kimberly is the author of Gramma's Legacy, which will be available for purchase at the store during the event.
Oct. 24 - Halloween Hike
Mooresville's annual Halloween tradition returns to Pioneer Park this year. The popular Halloween Hike event takes place on Saturday, October 24, beginning at 2 pm and features approximately 20 stops along a mile long trail along the park road. Treats and trinkets will be distributed to participating kids, age 12 and under.
Oct. 24 - 2nd Annual World's Largest Trunk or Treat
Porch Time LLC, a local independent media group, and the Tread Trimmers Car Club invite you to help them pack the fairgrounds in an attempt to host the world's largest Trunk or Treat event on October 24, from 5 to 9 pm. This event will take place at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in the infield at the Grandstand. They'll be expecting more than 250 vehicles (it'll take 275 to make it a record!) that will be decorated and ready to pass out candy! This event is a community fundraiser for local children to help with medical bills and other expenses.
Oct. 25 - 9th Annual Sammy Terry Live Stage Show
See legendary performer Sammy Terry live at the Art Sanctuary, just in time for Halloween. The Art Sanctuary will host this event on Sunday, October 25 beginning at 6 pm. Concessions will be available and there is a meet and greet opportunity after the show. Tickets are limited.
Oct. 24 - HalloweenFest
Jimmy Nash City Park invites you to come enjoy the annual HalloweenFest on Saturday, October 24. From 7 to 9 pm. Kids can tour the park shelter houses that will be decorated in various themes and trick or treat throughout the park. This is a free event!
Oct. 24 - Dancing Queen (ABBA tribute)
RD Productions and the Martinsville Entertainment Theatre present the music of ABBA, performed by nationally touring act, Dancing Queen on Saturday, October 24. Come ready to dance! Music starts at 7:30 pm; doors open on hour before showtime. Concessions available on site. Admission is $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
Oct. 25 - Frank Battaglia's Nostalgia Big Band
The Martinsville Entertainment Theatre presents the big sounds of Frank Battaglia's Nostalgia Big Band on Sunday, October 25 with an early start time of 2 pm! This band's repertoire spans generations, so bring the whole family! You'll enjoy everything from tunes made famous by Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Count Basie to the hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, plus more recent favorites. Doors open one hour before show time. Concession available on site. All ages welcome. Admission is only $10.
Oct. 28 - Morgan in Motion 5K
Join the YMCA of Morgan County for the Morgan in Motion 5K Run/Walk Series on the last Wednesday of each month, April through October. Each month, the run/walk takes place at a different location within the county, featuring parks and camps. This is a free, family-friendly event. Race begins at 6 pm.
Oct. 28 - Tread Trimmers Car Club Cruise In at Culver's
The Tread Trimmers Car Club of Martinsville will host a monthly cruise in event at the Culvers location at the corner of Ohio Street and Prather Drive, Martinsville on the last Wednesday of each month. Stop by from 5 to 8 pm to check out all the cool classic and unique vehicles! All car enthusiasts are welcome to participate.
Oct. 30 - Movie at The MET: Scooby Doo
Kick off Halloween weekend with Scooby Doo and the rest of everyone's favorite mystery-solving gang of meddling kids! Enjoy this fun, family-friendly movie full of laughter, mystery, monsters, and classic Scooby Doo fun (and Scooby snacks)! Whether you're a lifelong fan or you're introducing a new generation to the mystery solving pup, this is the perfect night of Halloween movie fun. Doors open at 6 pm; showtime is 7 pm. Concessions available on site. Admission is only $5.
Oct. 31 - The Haunting of Waverly
Join Old Town Waverly Park for the annual Haunting of Waverly event featuring a trunk-or-treat, traditional arts demonstrations and more! The haunting takes place beginning at 5 pm on Saturday, October 31st. Watch out for the headless horseman after 7 pm if you take the River Trail Hayride! (There is a charge for the hayride.)
Oct. 31 - Happy Halloween!!
