The days get colder and the holiday decorations come out during the month of November as we transition from beautiful fall color to the colorful twinkling lights of the holiday season! It's time to hit up the craft shows and holiday open houses for those perfect holiday gifts, and enjoy the great outdoors as we bask in the sunshine of those final warmer days of fall. Hit up Morgan County's various trails and parks on those warmer days, and enjoy the area's many shops and eateries on those cooler days as we begin to usher in the holiday season!

Taps on the Square - Fridays
Each and every Fridays, join the Spirit of '45 and the American Legion Post #230 Riders for Taps on the Square. Each week, names are read of service men and women, law enforcement and fire fighters that have passed on in the previous week, beginning at 6:50 pm. Rolling Taps is then played live from various locations on the square where buglers are stationed. Taps begins at the 7th bell.  

Candy Cane Pours - Saturdays
Every Saturday in November and December, the Martinsville Candy Kitchen makes holiday dreams come true with their handmade candy canes. Watch their Facebook page for details on Saturday pour times each week, and additional pour times as they're scheduled. Don't miss Santa's visits this year on Nov. 30 and Dec. 22, and check out all the other sweet treats while you're there!  

Berries & Ivy Country Store Holiday Open House - Nov. 2
On the Saturday after Halloween each year, Berries & Ivy hosts a Christmas Open House from 10 am to 4 pm. The first 50 customers will receive a small gift item from the store. Come see their beautiful holiday decorations in person on November 2.

St. Martin of Tours Holiday Bazaar & Cookie Sale - Nov. 2
The annual Holiday Bazaar & Cookie Sale at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2. This is more than just a craft and vendor show, though you'll find dozens of booths from local vendors (and a rummage sale room), you'll also find great lunch options and the annual Cookie Sale, featuring several varieties of holiday cookies by the pound!  

First Baptist Church Annual Craft Fair - Nov. 2
The First Baptist Church in Martinsville will host their annual holiday craft fair on Saturday, Nov. 2. Come out and browse booths from local vendors featuring handmade items of all kinds. Food will be available on site as well. 

Speaker: Mooresville's Painter Poet - James Whitcomb Riley - Nov. 2 
The Mooresville Public Library's Bicentennial Speaker's Series continues on November 2 with a presentation on the community's connection to iconic Indiana poet, James Whitcomb Riley. Program begins at 2 pm. All ages welcome; no registration required. 

Truckload of Christmas Toy Drive Concert: Jason Crabb - Nov. 2
Rd Productions once again presents their holiday Truckload of Christmas Toy Drive concert on Saturday, November 2 at Hoosier Harvest Church. Music begins at 7pm with regional favorites DownPour, then Grammy award-winning Jason Crabb will take the stage. Tickets are available online at rdproductions.com. This event benefits Churches in Mission. 

Live Music Jaylen Martinez - Nov. 2
Hoosier Que, the on site restaurant at Foxcliff Golf Club, will welcome Jaylen Martinez to their dining room for an evening of live music on Saturday, November 2. Music begins at 7 pm. Take advantage of their tasty menu and extensive craft beer and bourbon choices while you're there! 

Live Music: The 78s - Nov. 3
Cedar Creek Winery & Brew Co will present popular musical duo The 78s on Sunday, November 3. This is a free show and all ages are welcome. If the weather's nice, come prepared for an outdoor show. If the weather's a bit iffy the music will take place inside the Tap Room, beginning at 2 pm.

Community Concert: Letters From Home - Nov. 5
The Morgan County Community Concerts Association presents Letters From Home on November 5 at Hoosier Hills Church in Martinsville. The show begins at 7 pm and will feature a USO-style show honoring artists like Frank Sinatra, the Andrews Sisters, the Nicholas Brothers, Vera Lynn, Creedence Clearwater Revival and many others. Attendees can subscribe to the entire concert series or purchase a single show ticket for $15 per person. . 

Second Friday Open Studios & Open Mic Night - Nov. 8
Join the Art Sanctuary for November's Open Studios Night! Mingle with resident artists, see this month's exhibit, and maybe even get a bit of holiday shopping done. Don't miss Open Mic Night, taking place in the lower gallery space as well! Drop in any time between 6:00 and 8:30 pm on Nov. 8.

The Phantom of the Opera - Nov. 8-17
There are a total of three high schools in the entire country presenting The Phantom of the Opera. One of them is right here in Morgan County! The Phantom will be in residence at the Martinsville High School Auditorium on November 8-17. Show time is 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 pm on Sundays when the curtain rises for an early matinee performance at 2 pm. This performance is by MHS students, accompanied by a live orchestra (and yes - the chandelier will do an impressive drop from the ceiling, just like on Broadway)! Tickets will be available online or at the door. 

Big Green Egg Cookout - Nov. 9 
Martinsville's Ace Hardware store will host a Big Green Egg “Thanks-grilling” Cookout on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 2 pm. Stop by for a delicious meal cooked on the Big Green Eggs, with all proceeds going directly to local non-profit organization Stability First. 

FFF Fall Purse Bingo - Nov. 9
Join the Fall Foliage Festival organizing committee for this fun spring event at the SCI REMC Community Room in Martinsville. Cost is $45 per ticket, for which you receive admission to the event, a door prize ticket, 20 games of bingo and tasty seasonal foods. Tickets are available now and must be purchased in advance.

Morgan County Habitat for Humanity Craft Fair - Nov. 9
The Morgan County Habitat for Humanity will host its annual Craft Fair on Saturday, November 9 from 8 am to 3 pm at the Morgan County Fairgrounds. There will be a variety of craft and artisan booths as well as food options on site.

The Sterling Butterfly Holiday Open House - Nov. 9
Join the The Sterling Butterfly in downtown Martinsville for a Holiday Open House event on Nov. 9 from 10 am to 5 pm. You'll find a wide variety of beautiful items to choose from including works from many Indiana artisans. Don't miss owner Pam Hurst's own jewelry creations! 

Fables and Fairy Tales Holiday Open House - Nov. 9
Stop by everyone's favorite local independent book shop, Fables and Fairy Tales for a special holiday shopping event on Nov. 11 featuring books, toys, tee shirts and so much more for all the special people on your shopping list! Kids of all ages just love this shop and all it has to offer. This year's Open House will have a fun and wacky Willy Wonka theme! Watch for upcoming story time events, too, if you have little ones!

Wood & Cotton Co. Christmas Open House - Nov. 9
Stop by Wood & Cotton Co. on Main Street in Martinsville to browse their holiday decor, apparel, home goods, bird houses and feeders, beautiful barnwood creations, custom artisan-crafted hats and more. They will host a Christmas Open House on November 11, from 10 am to 5 pm. 

Monrovia Christmas Holiday Bazaar - Nov. 9
A Christmas Holiday Bazaar will take place at the Monrovia Elementary School on November 9, beginning at 9 am. Stop by and browse Fall and Christmas decorations, ornaments, and wreaths, baked goods, large variety of wood items, yard signs, metal prints, jewelry, coasters, candles,  embroidered blankets, doll clothes, assortment of crocheted items, t-shirts and sweatshirts, face painting, and much more! Food trucks will be on-site. Free admission. 

Painting Pals Fall Event - Nov. 9
Join the Paragon Homecoming Festival for a fun fundraiser event, Painting Pals, featuring an afternoon of painting for a good cause. Cost will be $35 per person and will include all materials needed, plus snacks and punch during the event. Seating will be limited, so register early. Event will be held at the Paragon Shelter House. Register by Nov. 1.

Cabin Row will perform on Saturday, November 9 at the Mooresville Eagles, located on N. Samuel Moore Parkway. Music begins at 7 pm. This show is open to the public. 

Songwriter Showcase - Nov. 9
Black Dog Brewing Company will host a Songwriter Showcase on Saturday, November 9, at 7 pm. Featured songwriters will include Taylor Hernly, Brian Babbs, and Brian Wiser. The music will be set up in the family dining area for this event, so those under 21 are welcome! 

Legacy and Lights Bicentennial Finale Dance Party - Nov. 16
The Mooresville 200 Bicentennial Committee has created a fun finale event featuring music, dancing and loads of fun! The Legacy and Lights Biceentennial Finale Dance Party will take place at Jones Crossing Banquet and Event Center in Mooresville on November 16. Reserve your tickets in advance! $25 per person; 21+ only. Food and drink on site.  

Willowfield Lavender Farm Annual Holiday Open House - Nov. 17-20
Join Willowfield Lavender Farm for their annual Holiday Open House, Nov. 17-20. The farm gift store features lavender items, handmade pottery, signature lavender teas and more! Get your shopping done for the lavender lovers in your life! 

Holiday Porch Pot Workshop - Nov. 23
Join Greendell Landscape Solutions in Mooresville for their popular Holiday Porch Pot Workshop! You'll create a fun and festival seasonal accent piece for your front porch. The project includes a pot, base fill, a beautiful bundle of fresh, seasonal greens and mulled cider and popcorn to keep your energy up! No winery on site for this event, but you are welcome to BOYB (bring your own bottle). Select embellishments are sold separately, such as holly, berries, magnolia branches, candles, pine cones, etc. Class is held in the greenhouse with outdoor heaters, so please dress accordingly. Space is limited so register early! Private parties also available if you have a large group.

Tri Kappa Turkey Trot - Nov. 28
Burn off those Thanksgiving calories in advance with Tri Kappa's fun annual Turkey Trot 5K. Before the day's big meal, meet up on Thanksgiving morning at the Fox Cliff Manor Clubhouse for a 5K. Two routes are available - the Hard Way with a steep challenging hill, or the Easy Way which is mostly flat. All ages welcome.  

Martinsville Small Business Saturday Passport - Nov. 30
Support locally-owned independent businesses on Small Business Saturday by heading to downtown Martinsville (and beyond) to pick up your Small Business Saturday Passport! Shop the day away, getting a jump-start on your holiday gifts, be sure to enjoy lunch at a local eatery, then turn your passport in at any participating business for a chance at great prizes!

Small Business Saturday Brickhouse Marketplace - Nov. 30
Brickhouse on Main will host their annual Small Business Saturday Brickhouse Marketplace on Saturday, November 25, featuring a variety of local vendors who do not have a brick and mortar location, bringing them directly to consumers for the day! Be sure to stop in and shop local. 

Small Business Saturday Makers Market - Nov. 30
The Art Sanctuary of Indiana will host their annual Small Business Saturday Makers Market, featuring a variety of vendor booths featuring local artisans selling handcrafted items of all kinds! Stop in and shop local.

DeLyn Jewelry Open House - Nov. 30
Downtown Martinsville mainstay, DeLyn Jewelry, will host a Holiday Open House in conjunction with Small Business Saturday on November 30. Be sure to stop in for great deals on holiday gifts and more while you're in town! 

Santa at Martinsville Candy Kitchen - Nov. 30
Santa Claus himself will make his first appearance at the Martinsville Candy Kitchen on Saturday, November 30. (Watch for another appearance on December 22.) The jolly old elf will be available to chat with kids of all ages from 2 to 4 pm. Cameras are welcome. Watch their Facebook page for candy pour times. 

WCBK Christmas Light Parade - Nov. 30
Local area radio station WCBK will once again host their Christmas Parade this year, beginning in downtown Martinsville! The parade will travel down West Washington Street to Home Avenue, ending at Jimmy Nash City Park where the Winter Wonderland Festival of Lights will kickoff, lighting up the park for the holiday season.

Winter Wonderland Festival of Lights Opening - Nov. 30
The holiday lights at Martinsville's Jimmy Nash Park will come on for the season on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 30. Each year, Santa arrives via the WCBK Christmas Light Parade to light up the park for the entire season! Come out for the Festival of Lights event, or just swing by any evening from November 30 to New Year's to see the light displays. 

Live Music: Phil Pierle - Nov. 30

Monrovia Hometown Christmas - Nov. 30
This is the first year for this fun event in Monrovia that will feature a Christmas Tree Lighting, photos with Santa, cookie decorating, wreath making, vendor booths, a live nativity scene and more! Come celebrate the holiday season with a friendly, hometown Christmas celebration on Saturday, November 30.
