Summer's finally here! School's out, pools are opening and it's time to revel in warmer temps, outdoor activities and relaxing meals on outdoor patios. Whether you have a long summer vacation or have to work throughout the season, you'll want to plan a visit to Morgan County for some of these don't-miss events in June! See the full schedule of outdoor concerts in the area, (or just the free ones) and be sure to keep an eye on our event calendar, as we are always adding new events.
Mondays - Pioneer Pathfinders Walk
This FREE Community Walk takes place each Monday at 9 am at Pioneer Park in Mooresville. All are welcome. Walk begins at Shelter # 2 and participants are welcome to walk whatever distance meets their level of ability and comfort.
Tuesdays - Tuesday Farmers Market
Join the Morgan County Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 3 to 6 pm in Mooresville. This year's Mooresville Market will relocate to the parking lot outside of Tractor Supply Company due to an ongoing downtown construction project. Find them at Town Center S. Drive, just off of State Road 67 and Bridge Street.
Tues. & Thurs.-Sun. - Drive in Movies at The Centerbrook Drive-in
The Centerbrook Drive-in is open five days per week during the summer season, featuring two currently running films each week. Admission is only $10 for adults, $5 for kids age 6-12 and free for kids age 5 and under! Grab the family and head for the drive-in for movies under the stars! Concessions available on site. Come early to get the perfect parking spot - there's a large open place area for the kids to run off energy before the show starts.
Wednesdays - Karaoke at Main Street Monrovia
The Main Street Grill in Monrovia invites you to enjoy a weekly Karaoke night on Wednesdays. Come out from 8 to 11 pm to join in the fun. Choose a song to sing along, with friends or just listen to others perform. Hosted by Track to Tunes Entertainment and DJ Switch.
Wednesdays - Martinsville in Motion City Walk
Meet in the Churches in Mission parking lot on West Pike Street each Wednesday at Noon for a FREE Community Walk. Options available for a 10, 20 or 30 minute walk through a peaceful neighborhood. Bring friends and make new friends while you take a Noon time break to uplift and energize your day! Movement is Medicine.
Wednesdays - Trivia at Brew Link Mooresville
Join Naptown Trivia in the dining room at Brew Link Mooresville on Wednesdays at 7 pm. All ages are welcome, and gift cards are awarded to the evening's winners!
Thursdays - Martinsville Cruise-in on the Square
One of our favorite area traditions is set to return to the downtown courthouse square in Martinsville on Thursdays, beginning in April. Join unique and historic car owners from around the area as they gather on the east side of the square each Thursday, beginning at 5 pm for the Cruise-in on the Square. Cars are welcome all along Jefferson Street, from Pike to Jackson Streets. This creates a fun and festive atmosphere downtown, perfect for enjoying dinner at one of several downtown eateries, browsing local shops and of course, checking out all the cool cars!
Fridays - Taps on the Square
Each and every Friday the buglers of Bugles Across American and Indiana Spirit of '45 invite you to join them as they honor American heroes with Taps on the Square. This weekly local tradition has become an iconic part of Downtown Martinsville and takes place on the southwest corner of the courthouse lawn. Meet up beginning at 6:45 pm; Taps is played at the seventh bell (7 pm).
Saturdays - Morgan County Farmers Market
Saturday brings the Morgan County Farmers Market to Martinsville, each week through October! Stop in and browse the weekly Saturday Market for locally grown produce and meats, fresh eggs and baked goods and a variety of handcrafted items. Find them from 9 am to 12:30 pm at The Main Connection in Martinsville - 460 South Main Street.
1st & 3rd Saturday - Morgantown Farm Market
Morgantown hosts its local farm market on the first and third Saturdays of each month through September. Find them in the Morgantown First United Methodist Church parking lot, from 9 am to Noon with locally grown produce, handmade items and fresh baked goods!
June 2-6 - Annual Anniversary Sale
The current owners of Berries & Ivy Country Store in downtown Martinsville invite you to celebrate their anniversary the first week of June! You'll find something you absolutely have to have in this cute little shop, which is true any time, but especially true this week as there will be special discounts throughout the week! Open 11 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Friday and 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
June 5 & 6 - MoMoFo 100K & 30 Mile Fun Run
Serious runners will love their choice of a 100K trail run, beginning at 7 pm on Friday June 5, or the 20 mile loop, beginning on Saturday, June 6 at 8:30 am. Both routes take you through the beautiful, scenic hills of Morgan-Monroe State Forest on a combination of single track trails, forest service roads, and paved road (don't worry - that's only about 4% of the longer course). Aid stations will be located along the way to keep you hydrated! Register online.
June 5 - Movie at the MET: Close Encounters of the Third Kind
The Martinsville Entertainment Theatre invites you to experience Steven Spielberg’s majestic sci-fi masterpiece, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, on Friday, June 5. Doors open at 6 pm; Showtime is 7 pm. Concessions available on site. Tickets in advance at martinsvilleshows.com or at the door.
June 6 - Big Green Egg Cookout
Ace Hardware hosts several Big Green Egg Cookouts each summer to benefit Stability First, a local non-profit organization. Stop by for a fantastic lunch between 10 am and 1:30 pm. You can't miss 'em - they'll be in the tents in front of the store - just follow all the delicious smells until you see those iconic big green egg grills!
June 6 - Martinsville Noon Lions Club Fish Fry
The Martinsville Noon Lions Club will be on the lot in front of the Martinsville Youth Development Center on Morton Avenue for their annual Fish Fry on Saturday, June 6. They'll be serving from 11 am to 3 pm, with your choice of tasty breaded fish or breaded tenderloin. Both are available a with or without sides.
June 6 - Drink at the Creek Concert: Pandora's Box & Whitesnaked
Are you ready to rock at the next Drink at the Creek Concert? On Saturday, June 6, The Creek will welcome Pandora's Box (Aerosmith Tribute) and Whitesnaked (Whitesnake Tribute) to the stage. Music begins at 5 pm. Bring your own seating. Picnics are welcome, but coolers must be 12"x15" or smaller. No outside alcohol. Food trucks on site, plus the Cedar Creek Eatery will be open as well. June 6 - Torchlight Free Kids' Movie: Puss in Boots
Torchlight Cinema in Mooresville invites you to a free family movie each month, sponsored by PDS Connect. Just bring a non-perishable food or hygiene item for Churches in Mission! Movie begins at 10 am. This month's feature is Puss in Boots.
June 6 - First Fridays in Downtown Mooresville
All new this summer, the businesses in downtown Mooresville will host a monthly First Friday event with great deals, tasty food and more! Visit them each Friday evening. Hours may vary a bit from business to business, but several have committed to being open late for your shopping convenience!
June 6 - Live Music: CPR
Black Dog Brewing Company invites you to their Summer Patio Concert Series! Each Saturday, a different band will perform at the brewery in Mooresville. On June 6, beginning at 7 pm, enjoy the sounds of CPR! Food (and great local beer) available on site.

June 10 - Dirt Track Racing: USAC Midgets & 410 Sprints
The Paragon Speedway has been home to fast-paced, exciting race night action since the 1950's, and they're still going strong today. Bring the whole family for a fun night at the races, from April through early October. On June10, the featured event will be USAC Midgets and 410 Sprints.
June 11 - Free Summer Concert: Cook & Belle
Pioneer Park will host a Free Summer Concert on Thursday, June 1 featuring Cook & Belle. Music begins at 7 pm. Bring your own seating, picnics are welcome, but there will be food and drinks available on site. No outside alcohol. The stage will be set up in the grassy area between the Aquatic Center and the parking area for the ball fields. All are welcome.
June 11 - Martinsville Summer Theatre Camp presents Alice in Wonderland
You're invited to come enjoy a performance of the Summer Theatre Camp production of Alice in Wonderland on Thursday, June 1, beginning at 6 pm. This performance is the conclusion of MSD of Martinsville's Summer Musical Theater Camp, featuring students in grades 3-8. Admission is free and all are welcome. Performance will take place at the Martinsville HS Auditorium.
June 12 - 2nd Friday Open Studios Night
The Art Sanctuary of Indiana will host their monthly Open Studios Night and Open Mic Night on Friday, June 13, beginning at 6 pm. June 12 - Movie at the MET: Jurassic Park
Attention dinosaur enthusiasts - here's your chance to see the original Jurassic Park on the big screen at the Martinsville Entertainment Theatre! Television screens cannot capture the jaw-dropping of the brachiosaurus or the terrifying size of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Movie begins at 7 pm on Friday, June 12; doors open one hour before showtime.
June 13 - 3rd Annual Eminence Music Boosters Car Show
The Eminence Music Boosters invite you to bring your favorite ride out on Saturday, June 13 for their 3rd annual Car Show! All makes and models are welcome. June 13 - Jog Your Memory 5K Walk/Run
A Senior Retreat invites you to come out for the Jog Your Memory 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 13 at Pioneer Park in Mooresville. June 13 - Mooresville Street Fair
Downtown Mooresville will host a Street Fair on Saturday, June 13 with shopping, kids activities, live entertainment and more. The Street Fair will take place from 10 am to 3 pm. This is a curated show and first priority is given to original arts, handmade work, vintage and specialty vendors. Event is rain or shine. Admission is free for shoppers.
June 13 - Morgan County Pre-Fair Country Concert: Scotty McCreery, Josh Turner, Lorrie Morgan, & BIGG Country
This is the big one - join RD Productions for their biggest concert of the year, featuring Scotty McCreery, Josh Turner, Lorrie Morgan, and BIGG Country! The show takes place at the Morgan County Fairgrounds with festival seating in three sections, so bring your own seating. Music begins at 5 pm. June 14 - Flag Day Celebration & Ice Cream Social
Enjoy a special Flag Day program honoring our nation's 250th year with the Martinsville Community Choir, Community Band, two short speeches, colors presented by the Young Marines, the national anthem and pledge of allegiance. Delta Theta Tau will host their 42nd Annual Crafty Bear Fare on June 20 10 am to 4 pm. This year's event will take place at the Mooresville High School. This is one of the area's largest craft shows, with over 100 craft vendors selling handmade creations of all kinds! Admission and parking are free for customers.
June 20 - String of Pearls Craft Workshop

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1257 in Martinsville hosts a steak n fish dinner on the fourth Friday of each month at their location, 1000 Josephine Street. Meal choices are steak, baked potato, and salad for $20 per plate or fish, fries, and cole slaw for $15 per plate. This monthly event is open to the public and sometimes is followed by live music, from 8 to 10 pm.
