Summer's finally here! School's out, pools are opening and it's time to revel in warmer tempsoutdoor activities and relaxing meals on outdoor patios. Whether you have a long summer vacation or have to work throughout the season, you'll want to plan a visit to Morgan County for some of these don't-miss events in June! See the full schedule of outdoor concerts in the area, (or just the free ones) and be sure to keep an eye on our event calendar, as we are always adding new events.

Tuesdays & Saturdays - Morgan County Farmers Market
Stop in and talk to area farmers and artisans at the twice-weekly Morgan County Farmers Market! Find them at the Friends Church in Mooresville on Tuesdays from 3 to 6 pm and at The Main Connection in Martinsville on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. Be sure to enjoy a specialty coffee or sweet treat from Sara's Goodies on Saturdays while you browse! (You can also pick up state and local visitor information inside at the Visit Morgan County office.)

Wednesdays - Kids' Summer Movie Series
Join Showtime Cinema in Mooresville for a fun summer movie series just for the kids. Admission is a non-perishable food or toiletry item for Churches in Mission (or 50 cents per person). Movies are on Wednesdays in June and July, featuring popular family films. See calendar listing for movie schedule. 

Thursdays - Cruise-in on the Square
Downtown Martinsville is the place to be on Thursday evenings, as classic car and truck owners cruise-in to the courthouse square for the evening. Cars begin arriving at 5 pm for the weekly Cruise-in on the Square, weather permitting. Browse through the awesome autos on display and enjoy a tasty dinner at one of several downtown eateries around the square.

Fridays -  Taps on the Square
A Martinsville tradition, Taps on the Square takes place each and every Friday on the southwest corner of the courthouse lawn under the flags. Members of the American Legion Riders, Spirit of '45 and Bugles Across America gather along with locals and visitors each week to acknowledge the bravery and sacrifice of service members, law enforcement, fire fighters, rose the riveters and even the occasional K-9 officer. Names are read, beginning at 6:50 pm, with echoing taps played at the 7th bell, by live buglers stationed at points around the square. 

Most Saturdays - Dirt Track Racing at Paragon Speedway
Join Paragon Speedway for racing under the lights on this traditional dirt track oval. Dirt track racing at Paragon typically features several classes of cars each night. Pit passes are available. General admission for kids age 10 and under is always free with a paid adult admission. Race dates this month are June 14, 15, 22 and 29. (Special event pricing may apply for some events; see calendar for details, and don't miss the fireworks extravaganza on June 29!)

Saturdays - Live Music at Hoosier Que
Bring the whole family to Hoosier Que at Foxcliff Golf Club on Saturdays for live music on the patio (when weather allows)! Watch our calendar for details on featured performers. Live music starts at 7 pm. All ages welcome! Hoosier Que serves up a popular mix of BBQ, pizza and snacks (try the giant pretzel!) for the whole family.   

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays - Live Music at Cedar Creek
Most Fridays at 6 pm, Saturdays at 4 pm (unless there's a Drink at the Creek Concert scheduled) and Sundays at 2 pm, you'll find free live music Cedar Creek WineryBrew Co & Distillery. When weather allows, performers take the outdoor stage. Enjoy the beautiful grounds and fun atmosphere of Cedar Creek with live music, locally crafted beverages and a great eatery menu as well! 

Ongoing until June 8 - Explore Downtown Martinsville Passport
Martinsville downtown merchants invite you to pick up a passport at one of 29 participating businesses and shop local! Fill as many passports as you can before the promotion ends on June 8. Winners will be chosen at random for several great prizes. Hours vary by business. 

June 1 - Mooresville FUMC Strawberry Festival, BBQ & Craft Fair
The Mooresville First United Methodist Church invites you to join them on June 1 for their annual Strawberry Festival and Craft Fair, featuring booths from local crafters. Stop by from 9 am to 3 pm; located across from Pioneer Park. Enjoy a Bar-b-que lunch, available on site!

June 1 - Big Green Egg Cookout
Join Ace Hardware for another Big Green Egg Cookout on Saturday, June 1! They'll have yummy options, served up from 11 am to 3 pm, unless they run our early! All proceeds from these events support local nonprofit organization Stability First. 

June 1 - Martinsville Lions Club Fish Fry
The Martinsville Noon Lions Club will be on the lot in front of the Martinsville Youth Development Center on Morton Avenue for their annual Fish Fry on Saturday, June 3. They'll be serving from 11 am to 3 pm, with your choice of tasty breaded fish or breaded tenderloin. Both are available as dinners or sandwiches. 

June 1 - Mooresville's Big League Pitcher, Amos Rusie
Join the Mooresville Public Library for their ongoing series of lectures about famous Mooresvillians thoroughout history as they celebrate the town's bicentennial this year! Beginning at 2 pm, learn all about Amos Rusie, a big league baseball pitcher from Mooresville. No RSVP required; all ages welcome. 

June 1 - Community Concert: Chris Funk the Wonderist
This show is part of the Morgan County Community Concerts series, rescheduled from earlier this year, to Saturday, June 1. Join the amazing Chris Funk at the Mooresville High School Auditorium for a show that will delight all ages. Doors open at 6 pm; show begins at 7 pm. 

June 1 - Live Music: EZY Livin' Band
Join Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville for an evening of live musical entertainment with the EZY Livin' Band on Saturday, June 1. Music begins at 7 pm. Be sure to enjoy the locally crafted brews and awesome flatbread pizzas while you're there! 

June 1 - Live Music: Bonita
Join Trackside Bar & Grill in Paragon for an evening of live music with the band Bonita! Music begins at 8 pm on Saturday, June 1. Trackside also serves up great dinner and drink options to enjoy along with the musical entertainment! 

June 2 - Bingo!
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 230 invites you to join them for a fun afternoon of Bingo on Sunday, June 2, beginning at 2 pm. Doors open at 1 pm. All proceeds will benefit the 3rd Annual Morgan County Veterans Creative Arts Festival. 

June 2 - Indiana Steel Guitar Club presents Mike Sweeney & Amber Martin
The Indy Steel Guitar Club presents some of the best steel guitar performers in Indiana on Sunday, June 2 at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana. Music begins at 12:30 pm. This event will feature steel guitarist Mike Sweeney and Vocalist Amber Martin, along with additional guests Dave Jackson, David Graves, Jerry Fessenden, Johnny Howard, and Sharon Denney. Admission is $10 for Indy Steel Guitar Club Members and $12 for non-members. All are welcome! 

June 4 - Take a Stroll in History: Arthur Newby
Join the Mooresville Public Library and the Morgan County History Center for this very special presentation featuring Arthur Newby (played by Bill Buckley) on June 4, beginning at 6:30 pm. Come lean how this philanthropist, born in Morgan County, affected the bicycle and auto industries. No RSVP required; all ages welcome. 

June 7 - Free Summer Concert: Bonham-Holdman
Pioneer Park will host a Free Summer Concert on Friday, June 7 featuring Bonham-Holdman. Music begins at 7 pm. Bring your own seating, picnics are welcome, but there will be food and drinks available on site. No outside alcohol. The stage will be set up in the grassy area between the Aquatic Center and the parking area for the ball fields. All are welcome. 

June 8 - Mooresville 200 Mutt Strutt
The Mooresville Bicentennial Celebration presents the Mooresville 200 Mutt Strutt! Bring your four-legged companions out to Pioneer Park on Saturday, June 8. The event will take place from 8 am to Noon. Registered participants will receive swag bags with a t-shirt, bandana, coupons and more. Enjoy music from an on site DJ, food trucks, vendors, and on site groomer and more. 

June 8 - Bar Mc Rodeo on the Track
The Paragon Speedway will try something a bit different on Saturday, June 8. They'll host the Bar Mc Rodeo on the track! This exciting event will feature bull riding, bronc riding (bareback and saddle) and barrel races. Be sure to wear your hat and boots to look the part! Action begins at 7 pm. 

June 8 - Drink at the Creek: Taylor Made & Dream Slice  
Still sad you didn't get tickets to the Eras Tour? Come on out for the next best (and definitely more affordable) thing, with Taylor Made, a well-known Taylor Swift tribute performer, along with Dream Slice. They'll be performing at the next Drink at the Creek Concert on Saturday, June 8, beginning at 5 pm. Tickets are available online at discounted rates, or at the gate. Bring you own seating, coolers welcome but must be 12"x15" or less, no outside alcohol. All ages welcome. 

June 9 - Elite Dance Revue
Join Elite Dance and Acrobatics for their 23rd annual recital at Martinsville High School Auditorium on Sunday, June 9, beginning at 2 pm. There will be tons of routines from talented dancers in a variety of styles and ages. This event is free to the public and all are invited. 

June 13 - Free Summer Concert: My Yellow Rickshaw
Head for Bicentennial Park in downtown Mooresville for another Free Summer Concert on Friday, June 13. Featured performers will be regional favorites My Yellow Rickshaw. Music begins at 7 pm. Food and drinks available on site, or grab takeout from a locally owned eatery! Picnics welcome, no outside alcohol. Bring your own seating. All ages welcome. 

June 14 - Free Summer Concert: Big Rosco & The Hammers
Downtown Martinsville will host another Free Summer Concert featuring Big Rosco & The Hammers at the outdoor performance venue, just a block off the courthouse square at Jefferson and Pike Streets. Music begins at 7:30 pm on Friday, June 14. Bring your own seating. Picnics welcome (no outside alcohol), but there will be food and drink available on site. All ages welcome. 

June 14 - June Open Studios Night
The Art Sanctuary of Indiana will host their monthly Open Studios Night and Open Mic Night on Friday, June 14. Stop in and visit with local resident artists, see where they work and browse the monthly exhibition. Located at the corner of Pike and Sycamore Streets in downtown Martinsville. 

June 15 - Concert: Martina McBride, Tracy Lawrence, Diamond Rio
This is the big one - join RD Productions for their biggest concert of the year, featuring Martina McBride, Tracy Lawrence, Diamond Rio and special local opening acts Rose O'Neal and Michael McCartney! The show takes place at the Morgan County Fairgrounds with festival seating in three sections, so bring your own seating. Music begins at 5 pm. Food and beverages available on site, including locally crafted beer and wine. 

June 20 - Sunset Hike
Martinsville's Jimmy Nash Park invites you to join them for their monthly sunset hike on Thursday, June 20. This month's hike is set to start at 8:30 pm, timed to get you to the top of Park Hill just in time for sunset! Bring your camera. This is a free event, but please do register on the parks website so they can anticipate the number of participants. All ages welcome! 

June 21-23 - Morgan County Antique Machinery Show
The Morgan County Antique Machinery Association invites you to join them for their annual Antique Machinery Show on June 21-23 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Martinsville. This three day event includes on site food, exhibit demonstrations, a vintage swap meet, toy tractor show, live music and more! Enjoy truck or tractor pulls each evening, a motorcycle ride on Saturday, and more.  

June 21 - Summer Musical Theater: James & The Giant Peach
You're invited to come enjoy a performance of the musical production of James & The Giant Peach on Friday, June 21, beginning at 6 pm. This performance is the conclusion of MSD of Martinsville's Summer Musical Theater Camp, featuring students in grades 3-8. Admission is free and all are welcome. Performance will take place at the Martinsville HS Auditorium. 

June 21 - Free Summer Concert: The Doo!
Pioneer Park will host another Free Summer Concert on Friday, June 21 featuring The Doo! Music begins at 7 pm. Bring your own seating, food and drink will be available on site. Picnics are welcome, but no outside alcohol allowed. All ages welcome! 

June 21 - Silent Disco at The Creek
It's time for another Silent Disco at Cedar Creek Martinsville! The Martinsville Rotary Club invites you to join them for this fun and unique dance party event on Friday, June 21. Participants will have headsets they can set to their choice of three music channels, then dance the night away! Participation is limited to the number of headsets available, so be sure to get your tickets early!

June 22 - LYKKE Summer Fest
The Mooresville Arts Partnership invites you to another LYKKE Summer Fest at their location on Indianapolis Road in Mooresville (just south of Pioneer Park). This fun event will feature live music, artists on site, vendor booths, kids activities and so much more! Free admission and all ages are welcome. 

June 22 - Eminence Music Boosters Car Show
The first ever Eminence Music Boosters Car Show will take place at Eminence Community Schools on Saturday, June 22. Come out and enjoy browsing all the cool cars and trucks, plus vendor booths, face painting, entertainment and more! Only $10 for participating vehicles; spectators are free. The fun begins at Noon. 

June 28 - Free Summer Concert: Karma
Come out and enjoy another Free Summer Concert in downtown Martinsville on June 28, featuring musical performers Karma! Music begins at 7:30 pm. Food and drink will be available on site. Bring your own seating. All are welcome! 

June 29 - Drink at the Creek: World Turning & The Wildflowers
Trust us, you don't want to miss this Drink at the Creek Concert on Saturday, June 29. Featured performers are World Turning, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band and The Wildflowers, a Tom Petty tribute band. Music begins at 5 pm. Bring your own seating. Picnics are welcome, but coolers must be 12"x15" or smaller. No outside alcohol. Food trucks on site, plus the Cedar Creek Eatery will be open as well. Get tickets in advance online, or at the gate.  

June 29 - Willowfield Summer Concert: Wilson & Co.
Willowfield Lavender Farm will host an evening of live music amid the lavender featuring Wilson & Co.on Saturday, June 29. Music begins at 5 pm. Admission is $5. Bring your own seating; picnics are welcome. Lavender tea and cookies will be available at the gift shop and Mallow Run Winery will be on hand with wine tasting and sales.
