On Wednesdays, we eat WINGS! Okay, actually, we'll eat wings on just about any day, but a few of our local eateries only have them available on certain days, so...
here's a handy list of where to find wings (and when!) in Morgan County, including some of very favorite ways to order them. Restaurants listed on this page are local independent eateries or locally owned franchises of Indiana based chains. Don't forget to grab a great local brew or cocktail to accompany those wings. Martinsville
As the county seat, it's not surprising that Martinsville is home to the largest variety of wings options in Morgan County. Here's the scoop on what to expect at each eatery.
Cedar Creek Eatery has a bit of everything - wine, beer, spirits, sandwiches, pizza, pasta... and of course both bone-in or boneless wings! Catch them on special on Wednesdays. Sizes are 8 piece or 12 piece and sauces include Mild, Hot, Garlic Parm, Bourbon (yum!), Mango Habanero, and plain. Be sure to try our a locally crafted beverages with those wings! Cedar Creek Eatery is located at 3820 Leonard Road, just outside of Martinsville off of State Road 252.
Another truly local option is Gather Around BBQ. Owned by the local Fire Chief, Gather Around knows their BBQ, and they serve up their jumbo smoked bone-in wings only on Wednesdays and most Saturdays (and yes, some days they run out). These tasty wings are cherry smoked for the perfect amount of time and are available in two sizes - 8 or 12 piece - and your choice of Garlic Sea Salt Dry Rub (our personal favorite), BBQ Dry Rub, BBQ Sauce, Buffalo, Teriyaki, Carolina Gold, or Naked (a.k.a. plain). Gather Around BBQ is located in downtown Martinsville at 43 South Main Street.
Next up is Greek's Pizzeria and the Groggy Goat Tap Room where they serve up a 1/2 pound of boneless wings tossed in your choice of sauce - BBQ, Hot & Spicy, Herb & Parmesan, Teriyaki or plain. Greek's is located right downtown at the corner of Morgan and Main Streets, making it convenient for both dine in or carryout so you can enjoy your wings at one of downtown's free summer concerts!
Hoosier Que is located just north of town at Foxcliff Golf Club and serves up traditional BBQ wings or their signature "smok-i-fried" wings - both bone-in. Their "smok-i-fried" wings are seasoned with wing dust, smoked, then flash-fried to order, and are available in Buffalo, Hot Buffalo, Garlic Parm, Jamacan Jerk, Sweet Red Chili, Garlic Buffalo and Gochujang. Find them, along with the largest selection of bourbons in the state (yes, seriously) at 1970 E. Mapleturn Road.
Known especially for chicken, Sgt. Pepper's Chicken offers up both bone-in and boneless varieties of wings in a variety of order sizes, from 6 piece to 50 piece! You'll get an equal mix of drumettes and flats, deep fried but not breaded, and served with celery, your choice of sauce and their signature fried potatoes. Available in plain, BBQ or Hot. Sgt. Pepper's Chicken is located at 2028 Burton Lane, in Martinsville Plaza, between State Road 39 and Burton Lane (enter the plaza from either direction), near Ace Hardware, SingerHobbbies and TraderBakers.
Last, but not least, is Wings, Etc. You know the wings are good when the whole place is named for them! An Indiana-founded chain with a locally-owned franchise, this casual eatery serves up traditional bone-in wings, boneless wings and even cauliflower wings! They're all cooked to order in a variety of order sizes and flavors range from mild to hot with two varieties of dry rubs and 17 different sauces. Wings, Etc. is located at 285 Grand Valley Boulevard, near Wal-Mart.
Mooresville
Mooresville's also got you covered when it comes to wings, with two great BBQ joints.
Squealer's BBQ is well known in the region for quality BBQ and wings. Their jumbo wings come in two sizes (10 or 20 piece) and a variety of sauces, many of which can also be purchased to take home: Sweet BBQ, Mixed BBQ, Hot BBQ, Mustard Madness, Carolina Red, Sweet Chili, Sriracha Honey, Teriyaki, Louisiana Hot and Teriyaki Hot. Squealer's BBQ is located at 390 E. High Street, just off of State Road 67.
Last, but certainly not least is the relative new kid on the block, the more recently opened Smok'n Crew BBQ. They serve up a boneless wings appetizer tossed in their signature sauce along with a variety of BBQ entrees and sides. Smok'n Crew BBQ is located at 409 Saint Clair Street, just a short distance south of Pioneer Park.
Monrovia
Monrovia's also got two wings spots to choose from.
This small town's favorite pizza place isn't just for pizza! Dawg House Pizza also serves up some awesome appetizers (and salads, too). Choose from jumbo bone-in wings or boneless wings, by the pound in your basic flavors of BBQ, Hot BBQ or plain. (No need to get fancy here - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!) Don't miss out on the Dawg House pizza while you're there - it's made with only the freshest ingredients with your choice of toppings. Dawg House Pizza is located at 160 W. Main Street.
Also in Monrovia, the original Main Street Grill location, serving up a widely varied menu which includes both boneless wings and traditional bone-in wings. Available sauces include BBQ, Mild, Hot, Teriyaki, Hot Honey Garlic and Thai Chili. Of course you can get them plain as well if you're not feeling adventurous. Order size ranges from the five piece to the shareable 25 piece. The Main Street grill is located at 220 W. Main Street.
Morgantown
For such a small town, Morgantown does not skimp on the food! With two locations in town for wings, you can choose from Frenchy's Pub (21+) or Green Hill Diner (family-friendly).
Frenchy's serves up traditional pub food, including a Hot Wings appetizer that includes ranch and celery (bleu cheese on request) in three sizes, perfect to share with the table! A true bar, this location is strictly 21 and over (sorry kids). Frenchy's is a bit of a hot spot for area motorcycle riders, so be prepared to spend a few moments checking out the beautiful bikes parked out front when you go (just don't touch...) Frenchy's is located at 150 W. Washington Street.
Green Hill Diner offers up a made-from-scratch menu that changes with the seasons, so if your tastebuds are set on wings, you'll want to call ahead to verify they'll be available when you visit. If they are (typically on a Wednesday), you will not be sorry - these jumbo wings come out of the smoker where they soak up some tasty pecanwood smoke, then they're fried up crispy with your choice of sauce - Buffalo & Bleu Cheese, General Tsos, House BBQ, Gold BBQ, Spicy Garlic Parmesan, Sweet & Sour Chili, Rib Rub or Cajun Butter. (Give that Cajun butter a try - they'll melt in your mouth!) Green HIll Diner is located at 679 State Road 135.
Paragon
In Paragon, 67 Boar's Nest is the place to get wings. A bar and grill that often hosts live music on weekends, this bar and eatery has a family-friendly seating area and a wide variety of menu items, including wings! Get your traditional bone in wings with your choice of sauces including BBQ, Buffalo, Stingin' Honey Garlic, Kickin' Bourbon, Mago Habanero or Garlic Parmesan. Thursdays are Bike Nights, Fridays are Karaoke night in the bar, and they often have live music on Saturdays. Located at 2285 State Road 67.
