On Wednesdays, we eat WINGS! Okay, actually, we'll eat wings on just about any day, but a few of our local eateries only have them available on certain days, so...
here's a handy list of where to find wings (and when!) in Morgan County, including some of very favorite ways to order them. Restaurants listed on this page are local independent eateries or locally owned franchises of Indiana based chains. Don't forget to grab a great local brew or cocktail to accompany those wings. No matter where you end up, tell 'em Visit Morgan County sent you. Cheers!
As the county seat, it's not surprising that Martinsville is home to the largest variety of wings options in Morgan County. Here's the scoop on what to expect at each eatery. Brain Chillzz started as a shaved ice shop, but now offers up a full menu of tasty entrees to go with their desserts - their boneless wings come as an order of eight, or as a combo with your choice of side. Sauces include Buffalo, BBQ, Honey Chipotle, Sweet Teriyaki, Sweet Chili, Mango Habanero, Garlic Parmesan or Nashville Hot (and they don't skimp - you get two cups of sauce with each order). Cedar Creek Eatery has a bit of everything - wine, beer, spirits, sandwiches, pizza, pasta... and of course both bone-in or boneless wings! Catch them on special on Wednesdays. Sizes are 8 piece or 12 piece and sauces include Mild, Hot, Garlic Parm, Bourbon (yum!), Mango Habanero, and plain. Be sure to try our a locally crafted beverages with those wings!
Another truly local option is Gather Around BBQ. Owned by the local Fire Chief, Gather Around knows their BBQ, and they serve up their jumbo smoked bone-in wings only on Wednesdays and most Saturdays (and yes, some days they run out). These tasty wings are cherry smoked for the perfect amount of time and are available in two sizes - 8 or 12 piece - and your choice of Garlic Sea Salt Dry Rub (our personal favorite), BBQ Dry Rub, BBQ Sauce, Buffalo, Teriyaki, Carolina Gold, or Naked (a.k.a. plain).
Next up is Greek's Pizzeria and the Groggy Goat Tap Room where they serve up a 1/2 pound of boneless wings tossed in your choice of sauce - BBQ, Hot & Spicy, Herb & Parmesan, Teriyaki or plain. Hoosier Que is located just north of town at Foxcliff Golf Club and serves up traditional BBQ wings or their signature "smok-i-fried" wings - both bone-in. Their "smok-i-fried" wings are seasoned with wing dust, smoked, then flash-fried to order, and are available in Buffalo, Hot Buffalo, Garlic Parm, Jamacan Jerk, Sweet Red Chili, Garlic Buffalo and Gochujang.
Known especially for chicken, Sgt. Pepper's Chicken offers up both bone-in and boneless varieties of wings in a variety of order sizes, from 6 piece to 50 piece! You'll get an equal mix of drumettes and flats, deep fried but not breaded, and served with celery, your choice of sauce and their signature fried potatoes. Available in plain, BBQ or Hot. Last, but not least, is Wings, Etc. You know the wings are good when the whole place is named for them! An Indiana-founded chain with a locally-owned franchise, this casual eatery serves up traditional bone-in wings, boneless wings and even cauliflower wings! They're all cooked to order in a variety of order sizes and flavors range from mild to hot with two varieties of dry rubs and 17 different sauces.
