From Mardi Gras to Valentine's Day to live performances, you're sure to find something fun to do this February in Morgan County! Here are our top picks for fun things to do in the upcoming month, but be sure to check out our complete events calendar for more events, as this is not a comprehensive list. Check back often as even more events will be added there throughout the month! 

 

Story Time at Fables & Fairy Tales - Feb. 1, 10:30 am

Martinsville's locally owned, independent book shop will feature the book How to Catch a Loveosaurus at a special Valentine's Day themed Story Time on February 1, beginning at 10:30 am. Story time is free, but please RSVP to the store so they know how many to expect for the event. 

Hard Truth Distilling Co. Tasting & Live Music from Clint Zimmerman - Feb. 2, 8 pm & 9 pm

The Groggy Goat Tap Room at Greek's Pizzeria in downtown Martinsville will feature the flavors of Hard Truth Distilling Company at a tasting event on Feb. 2, beginning at 8 pm. Be sure to stick around awhile and enjoy live music from Clint Zimmerman, beginning at 9 pm. This event is 21+. 

Master Gardener's Annual Seed Swap - Feb. 3, 1-4 pm

The Morgan County Master Gardeners will meet at the Morgan County Public Library for their Annual Seed Swap event on February 3, from 1 to 4 pm. Bring your favorite seeds to trade for something new before you get started with this year's gardening plans! 

Indiana Astronomical Society: Predicting Eclipses - Feb. 3, 6 pm

The Mooresville Public Library will host a speaker from the Indiana Astronomical Society on February 3 as part of their ongoing Eclipse themed speaker series. This month's theme is how they predict eclipses. Bring your questions for this free event, beginning at 6 pm. 

Pints, Paws & Playlists Music Bingo to Benefit the Humane Society - Feb. 3, 6 pm

Love animals? Love Music Bingo? Morgan County's two local Brewing Companies have you covered - come out on February 3, beginning at 6 pm for a fun, family-friendly evening of Music Bingo with three on site food trucks, beverages from Cedar Creek Brewing Company and Black Dog Brewing Company and more! Jeremy from Black Dog will be your host, with four playlists (two games per playlist). Proceeds from bingo cards goes directly to the Morgan County Humane Society. (Bring cash!)

Live Music with LP Bailey - Feb. 3, 8 pm

Frenchy's Pub in Morgantown will host live music on Saturday, February 3, featuring LP Bailey Music begins at 8 pm. This event is 21+. Watch our calendar for additional upcoming live music performances at Frenchy's. 

Live Music with The Whiskey Brothers - Feb. 3, 8 pm

The Whiskey Brothers will bring their unique musical flavor to Trackside Bar & Grill in Paragon on February 3. Music begins at 8 pm. This event is 21+. Watch our calendar for additional upcoming live music performances at Trackside.

Live Music with The 78s - Feb. 4, 2 pm

Enjoy family-friendly live music from The 78s at Cedar Creek Winery, Brewery & Distillery on February 4. This is a free, all ages show. Music begins at 2 pm. Watch our calendar for additional upcoming live music performances at Cedar Creek. 

Chris Funk The Wonderist - Feb. 5, 7 pm

The Morgan County Community Concerts Association presents Chris Funk The Wonderist with his unique blend of music and magic on February 5, beginning at 7 pm. This show is part of a series of events held throughout the county, but single tickets are available online or at the door at the Monrovia High School Auditorium.

Open Studios & Open Mic Night - Feb. 9, 6 pm

The Art Sanctuary of Indiana invites you to come out for their monthly Open Studios Night and Open Mic Night on February 9, beginning at 6 pm. This monthly event is held on the second Saturday of each month. You'll find working artists in their studios throughout the building on all three levels, plus a fun Open Mic Night on stage in the lower gallery. 

Local Valentine's Pop Up Shop - Feb. 10, 10 am-1 pm

Sara's Goodies invites you to come shop local on Saturday, February 10, from 10 am to 1 pm. She'll be hosting a limited selection of carefully curated local vendors inside The Main Connection at 460 South Main Street in Martinsville. (Of course, you won't want to miss the great baked goods and coffee drinks available while you're there!) 

Love Local. Shop Local! - Feb. 10, 10 am-5 pm

Downtown Martinsville Merchants invite you to come out and express your love for local by shopping local for Valentine's Day on Saturday, February 10, from 10 am to 5 pm. Shop locally owned boutiques and shops, enjoy a meal from a locally owned eatery and enjoy the downtown atmosphere! 

Love Local Dinner Event - Feb. 10, 5:30pm & 8 pm

The Peddler's Loft Cafe invites you to a very special dinner event. Celebrate Valentine's Day a bit early as part of the downtown Love Local event on February 10. There will be two seating times, 5:30 and 8 pm, and the menu will include your choice from three entrees, plus salad, drink and dessert. Cost is just $55 per couple! Seating is limited, call 812-360-7611 to make your reservations early! 

Samedi Gras & Valentine's Day Celebration - Feb. 10, 2 pm

Zydeco's Cajun in Mooresville will open early with Valentine's Day Specials on February 10 and a Samedi Gras (Fat Saturday) Celebration will begin at 6 pm with live music from Big Bill Taylor and Cadillac Matt, plus magic from Taylor Martin! They cannot guarantee seating for large parties for this event, so be sure to plan accordingly and be prepared to split into smaller tables. 

Mardi Gras Masquerade & Gumbo Cookoff - Feb. 10, 4 pm

Cedar Creek Winery and Brewery will host their annual Mardi Gras Masquerade and Gumbo Cookoff event on Saturday, February 10 beginning at 4 pm. If you'd like to enter your gumbo in the cookoff, the cost will be $10. Proceeds benefit Morgan County area non-profit organizations. Don't have a winning recipe? Don't worry - just get a tasting ticket to sample everyone  elses' signature dishes! 

Canvas & Cupcakes - Feb 12, 7 pm

Trackside Bar & Grill in Paragon will welcome The Painted Lady Art for a fun Cupcakes and Canvas event on Monday, February 12, beginning at 7 pm. This event will be family friendly! Come early to eat before the event (kitchen closes at 7:30 pm). Cost is $25 per person and includes all materials, instruction and of course, a cupcake! 

26th Annual Mardi Gras Bash - Feb. 13, 6 pm

Zydeco's will host their 26th Annual Mardi Gras Bash on Tuesday, February 13. This will be a private, ticketed event, so get yours early before they're gone, by calling 317-834-3900 or texting 317-626-1690. The celebration begins at 6 pm and includes a costume contest, crowning of the King and Queen, live music with Big Bill Taylor and Cadillac Matt, Taylor Martin Magic, throws, contests, prizes and of course great food and drink specials! 

Dessert Before Dinner - Feb. 14-16, 12-7 pm

The Martinsville Candy Kitchen will once again host their popular Dessert Before Dinner event, beginning on Valentine's Day, February 14. From Noon to 7 pm on February 14-16, you can enjoy your choice of four delectable desserts, before dinner! Make your reservations early (call 765-342-6390) and be sure to order your preferred selections, as quantities may be limited. May be ordered as carryout as well. 

Valentine's Day Dinner at Gather Around - Feb. 14, 5 & 7:30 pm

Once you've had your dessert, head on over to Gather Around BBQ for a very special Valentine's Day dinner, featuring three entree options, tasty sides and even the chance to indulge in another dessert! Make your reservations for one of two seating times, 5 and 7:30 pm, on Wednesday, February 14. Trust us, your Valentine will be happy with your choice!

Zombie Prom - Feb. 16-19

Opening night for Zombie Prom at the Martinsville High School Auditorium will be February 16, and the shows will continue through the 19th. Curtain time is 7 pm on Friday, Saturday and Monday with a special matinee time of 3 pm on Sunday. This 50's style, zombie themed musical will have you laughing the night away! Get your tickets online in advance or on site the day of the show. 

Coffee & Craft: Create a Bracelet - Feb. 17, 10 am

Jimmy Nash City Park will host another Coffee and Craft workshop on February 17, beginning at 10 am. This time, you'll be creating a bracelet for yourself or as a gift. All materials, and coffee, are included in the workshop fee of $10 per person.  

Trivia Night to Benefit League of Miracles - Feb. 21, 6 pm

Love trivia? Head for Greek's Pizzeria & The Groggy Goat Taproom on February 21 for a very special Trivia Night to benefit the League of Miracles, a Morgan County based non-profit that ensures that kids of all abilities can have the classic childhood experience of youth sports. Trivia begins at 7 pm. Teams of up to 6 people can register in advance or on site beginning at 6 pm. Cost is $10 per person and all proceeds go to the League of Miracles. 

Hunter's Honey Farm at Fables & Fairy Tales - Feb. 22, 6 pm

We love it when our local businesses collaborate! On February 22, beginning at 6 pm, Fables and Fairy Tales, downtown Martinsville's locally-owned independent book shop, will host Tracy and Chris Hunter of nearby Hunter's Honey Farm for a special talk about the wonders of honey and the bees that make it, plus a demonstration on rolled beeswax candles! This event is free and open to all ages, but please RSVP here so they'll know how many to expect. 

Live Music with Cabin Row - Feb. 24, 7 pm

The Mooresville Eagles will host live music with Cabin Row on Saturday, February 24. This performance is open to the public, with music beginning at 7 pm. 

Live Music with Sisters Brew - Feb. 24, 4 pm

Sisters Brew will perform at Cedar Creek Winery and Brew Co on Saturday, February 24, beginning at 4 pm. This is a casual, free performance and is open to all ages. The onsite eatery will be open as well. 

Learn About Indoor Seed Starting - Feb. 24, 1 pm

The Morgan County Master Gardeners invite you to come learn about indoor seed starting, just in time to get a jump on planting for this year's garden! The class will begin at 1 pm at the Main Branch of the Morgan County Public Library in Martinsville. No experience? Don't worry - this will be a basic, beginner class. The seed library has also recently been filled up for the season, so be sure to browse!

A Starry Night Themed Art Classes - Feb. 24, times TBA

The Art Sanctuary of Indiana will host fun art classes for various age groups from toddler to adult, themed around Vincent Van Gogh's A Starry Night. Watch for more details on specific times and how to register, but each class will create celestial-themed works in media appropriate to the age group, ranging from pastels and collage to printmaking to acrylics on canvas.
