Well, I wouldn't really call it a problem... more like a opportunity for you to explore the entire county, visiting your choices from multiple fun fall festivals and events along the way!
This year, the weekend of September 9-12 will delight visitors who love small town festivals and live music. Come and enjoy your choice of three fun festivals, each with live music, plus three additional awesome concert performances. Don't worry - we've got all the information you need to make the most of the time you have available. We'll take you through all the fun options on tap for this busy mid-September weekend. FESTIVALS
Colonel Vawter Day
Morgantown's annual fall festival is a celebration of the town's heritage and is named for Colonel John Vawter, an early settler of the town. The one-day event kicks off with a 5K Fun Run, followed by a car show, vendor booths lining Washington Street, a car show, raffles and more! Don't miss the fun kids activities including touch-a-truck, llamas and a sawdust scramble (yes, that's a fun as it sounds). There will be lots of great food on site and regional favorite Split Rail will perform that evening, beginning at 5 pm. Get the complete schedule.
Eminence Harvest Festival
This small-town festival kicks off with a tasty pancake breakfast. The one day event will take place on Sept. 11. Vendor booths open at 9 am and the parade begins at 1 pm. Other fun activities include a live magician and other activities for the kids, a car and tractor show, kiddie tractor pull, live entertainment and more! Get the complete schedule.
Monrovia Festival
Monrovia will host their annual town festival, Sept. 10-12. There will be live music featured each evening as well as loads of vendor booths, food vendors, an art show, kids activities and more. LIVE MUSIC
Drink at The Creek: Caribbean Night
Sept. 11 is Caribbean Night at Cedar Creek Winery, Brew Co & Distillery near Martinsville, featuring Gone 2 Paradise, a fun Jimmy Buffet tribute band. Gather your parrot-heads and head for The Creek! Opening act Two for the Show will take the stage at 5 pm, followed by Gone 2 Paradise at 7 pm. This is an all-ages event and kids 12 and under are free. Bring your own seating. No outside alcoholic beverages permitted, but they've got something for every taste with the on site winery, brewing company and distillery! Food available on site as well.
Josh Kaufman at 5 East
He made a splash on The Voice as part of Team Usher, taking the home the top prize. Now singer Josh Kaufman is gearing up to perform right here in Morgan County! Event venue 5 East in downtown Mooresville will welcome Josh to the stage on Sept. 11. Doors will open at 6:30 pm with music beginning at 7 pm. Spring for VIP tickets to enjoy a meet and greet before the show. This event will feature a cash bar with food trucks on site.
Drink at The Creek: Symphony at the Creek
What's that? Another Drink at the Creek Concert? That's right - this rare Sunday concert at Cedar Creek on Sept. 12 will be a bit more laid back than some, featuring the music of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra! The opening act will be regional favorites The 78s, who will take the stage at 5 pm. The Carmel Symphony Orchestra will perform at approximately 7 pm. This is an all-ages event and kids 12 and under are free. Bring your own seating. No outside alcoholic beverages permitted, but they've got something for every taste with the on site winery, brewing company and distillery! Food available on site as well.
