Spring is finally arriving in Morgan County! We can't wait for warm, sunny days, dogwood and redbud trees in bloom and more time outside. It's the perfect season for some hiking - there's nothing like watching nature awaken from its winter sleep. Make sure you're prepared to hit the trails with your mud boots - spring can be messy out in the forest. Spring Barn Sale - Mar. 2-7
Elizabeth, of Art Work by Elizabeth, will again host a barn sale at "The Barn" on Low Gap Road near Martinsville. The Spring Barn Sale will run from 10 am to 2 pm, March 2 through 7. You'll find a variety of treasures included architectural salvage, vintage windows, slate roof tiles, hand crafted folk art pieces and more.
Gateway Fun Run/Walk - Mar. 7
Join the Knobstone Trail Hiking Association for the third annual Gateway Fun Run/Walk at Jimmy Nash Park in Martinsville on Saturday, March 7. Proceeds from the event will help the group as they work toward completion of the 150-mile Knobstone Trail. Once complete, Martinsville will be the northern gateway to the trail that will travel south all the way to the Ohio River!
Public Viewing at Link Observatory - Mar. 7
Join the experts at Link Observatory Space Science Institute for their monthly observation night on the first Saturday of the month, March 7. You'll be able to explore the observatory, view the skies through the large telescope and get all your questions answered!
Outdoor Education Open House - Mar. 7
Learn about the many outdoor education opportunities available at Bradford Woods at this free, family-friendly open house event. You'll tour the facilities and learn about programs available at this beautiful property in the heart of Morgan County.
Celtic Knot Earring Workshop - Mar. 12
Join jewelry artist Pam Hurst of The Sterling Butterfly for this fun workshop on March 12. Participants will learn some of the history of the Celtic knot design and create three different variations in sterling silver earrings. Class size is limited, so reserve your space in advance. No experience necessary; all materials included.

The Morgan County Community Concerts Association presents violinist Timothy Chooi in concert with piano accompaniment at the Martinsville High School Auditorium on March 12. Music begins at 7 pm.
Candle Making Workshop - Mar. 14
The FarmHouse Market in Mooresville invites you to come create your own wooden wick candles with instruction from The Rusty Lid. Workshop participants will leave with two 8 oz candles, two tea lights and two clamshell wax melts. All materials included. Space is limited, so register early!
2nd Friday Open Studio Night - Mar. 14
Stop by the Art Sanctuary of Indiana on March 14 for their monthly Open Studios Night. Talk with artists, see their working studios and enjoy live music downstairs during open mic night! Studios are open 6 pm to 9 pm.

A Tribute to Patsy Cline & Tammy Wynette - Mar. 20-21
Merry MAC Players and the Martinsville Arts Council present a special two-evening performance from Ginny Spillman. This tribute to Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette will take place on Mar. 20 at 7:30 pm and Mar. 21 at both 2:30 and 7:30 pm. All ages are welcome.
Maple Syrup Day - Mar. 21
Bradford Woods knows how to welcome spring... with maple syrup camp, of course! This fun event is free and open to the public. You'll see how sap is collected and boiled down into sweet maple syrup, enjoy kids' activities and tours of the grounds. There will also be a pancake brunch available for purchase (discount tickets available online). Your kids will love this fun (and educational) event in one of the most iconic locations in all of Morgan County!
March Wildflower Walk - Mar. 21
Join Master Naturalist and Master Gardener David Mow as he leads the first of three wildflower walks at Burkhart Creek Park. Learn more about native wildflowers that grow in Indiana and when to expect them to appear. Additional wildflower walks will be held in April and May. Meet at 1 pm and expect to walk for approximately one hour.

Brought to you by the Morgan County Community Concerts Association, JoySwing Jazz Orchestra will perform on Sunday, Mar. 22 at the Mooresville High School Auditorium. The group performs big band jazz hits and gospel favorites with 20+ highly trained instrumentalists and vocalists.
GardenFest - Mar. 28
One of the sure signs of spring, GardenFest will take place on Saturday March 28 from 9 am to 3 pm. Organized by the Morgan County Master Gardeners, this event features fun vendors, educational information about gardening, free seeds and beautiful pansies for sale to start your gardening season off right. Educational presentations also qualify for Indiana Master Gardener credits!
The Sterling Butterfly Birthday Bash - Mar. 28
Join owner and jewelry artist Pam Hurst for a fun celebration on Saturday, Mar. 28 as The Sterling Butterfly celebrates six years in downtown Martinsville and one year in their new location on the north side of the courthouse square. Stop in between 10 am and 5 pm for great specials, entertainment and refreshments.
