April is one of the very best times of the year! Spring has arrived, and with it comes lots of color - greener grass, yellow daffodils, red bud trees in bloom, pansies, wildflowers and so much more. - Martinsville Train Show
It's a model train show - no foolin'! On April 1, from 10 am to 3 pm, railroad enthusiasts, model train builders and kids of all ages will be delighted by several working model train displays, vendor booths and more at this annual event. - Alice in Wonderland
Follow that rabbit! Join Alice as a certain white rabbit leads her into a whole new world of fantastic adventure at the historic Depot Theater in Martinsville. The Merry MAC Players present this classic, family-friendly tale, April 1-9 with evening performances on Friday and Saturday and matinees on both Saturday and Sunday! - Feline Frolic Color Run
Love color? Love cats? This event is for you! Enjoy a spring run through downtown Martinsville on April 8 as you encounter vibrant colors along the way. Proceeds benefit the Morgan County Humane Society. - Middle Eastern Musical Journey with Salaam
The Morgan County Public Library hosts well-known musical guests Salaam on April 13 for a performance of Middle Eastern music. Learn more about the rich culture of the Middle East region, right here in Morgan County! - No Cover Songwriters Showcase
Enjoy live music at this monthly showcase featuring local and regional songwriters as they perform their original material. Hosted at Zydeco's Cajun on Thursday, April 13. (Crawfish boils will be starting up again soon, as well!) - Link Observatory Public Program
Learn more about space at this monthly multi-media presentation hosted by the Mooresville Public Library and Link Observatory Space Science Institute. On April 15, the presentation will be offered at both 7 and 9 pm, followed by telescope viewing at the Observatory (free shuttle provided). If you can't make it to the program, be sure to stop by during their open viewing on April 1 beginning at 6:30 pm or their observation day on April 13 from 9 am to 3 pm. - 2nd Friday Open Studios & Swing into Spring
Artists at the Art Sanctuary are ready to welcome spring and in addition to this month's Open Studios Night on Friday, April 14, you can also enjoy a swing dance lesson ($5 for adults; $10 per family) at 6:30 pm. Open dance is free beginning at 7:30 pm. - Art Gallery Reception
Mooresville Arts Partnership will host their monthly art gallery reception on Saturday, April 15, beginning at 6 pm. Stop in and view the work of talented artists from the local and regional area. - April Wildflower Walk
Welcome spring the right way - with a walk in the woods to find common Indiana wildflowers! Not sure what you're looking for? Master Naturalist David Mow will be on hand to point out the beautiful signs of spring along the trail. Meet at 1 pm at Burkhart Creek Park. (There will be one more Wildflower Walk coming up in May.) - Color Me Green 4-H Dash
Everything turns green in springtime - and you can too! The Color Me Green 4-H Dash will be held at Burkhart Creek Park on Saturday, April 22. A fun tie-dye party will follow the race for only $5 per person.

The Indiana Daffodil Society, which cares for Helen Link's beloved daffodils, is kind enough to ensure that the gardens are accessible on weekends in April so the public can enjoy these beautiful blooms.
