Yes, it's winter. Yes, it's a bit slower than usual around these parts, but no, that doesn't mean there's nothing to do. Far from it, in fact! Even though the weather's colder and there aren't quite as many options as in warmer months, there are still plenty of fun things to keep you busy this February in Morgan County. See our calendar of events for even more events, or check out the things to do section for area attractions and interesting experiences. In the meantime, here 10 great events happening in Morgan County this month:
- M.O.M Open House
Stop in at Mooresville Open Market Antiques (also affectionately known as M.O.M.) to see what they've been busy adding to their collection of goodies this winter. Their first Open House of 2017 will be Saturday, February 4 from 10 am to 4 pm, on Main Street in Mooresville.
- Live Music with Brent Arnold
As always Zydeco's is a hopping place this time of year! In addition to fun Carnival themed events, they'll be hosting musician Brent Arnold on Saturday, February 4 from 5-8 pm. The music is free, and a perfect accompaniment to the eclectic atmosphere and tasty Cajun cuisine!
- Link Observatory Open Day
If you have trouble getting to Link Observatory's monthly lecture, or if you'd just like to take a closer look at the historic observatory in the daylight, this is the event for you! The Observatory is now hosting open hours from 9 am to 3 pm one day each month. Stop in and visit on Thursday, February 9.
- Open Studios & Open Mic Night
You probably already know that the second Friday of each month is Open Studios Night at the Art Sanctuary, but did you know that they're also hosting a fun, almost-monthly Open Mic Night event in the lower gallery during the same time frame? All are welcome to perform, sign up starts at 6 pm. Come enjoy the performances!
