Mooresville's annual holiday event, the Victorian Christmas Celebration is coming up on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The event runs from 9 am to 5 pm with various events and activities throughout the community. It's a ton of fun for kids of all ages with various exhibits, vendors, performances and more. Here are a few of our favorite things to experience at this annual holiday celebration:

  • Admission is free. Yep, totally free.
  • Pancakes! Join the Mooresville Lions Club on Harrison Street for a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 am to fuel up for your day of fun.
  • There's free transportation to get you to all the various stops throughout town, so you only need to park once.
  • Enjoy looking at the creative entries in the Gingerbread House Contest at Stewart Home Group and decorate your own cookie while you're there.
  • You can meet Father Christmas... and Ebeneezer Scrooge... and Santa! Keep your eyes open for lots of fun Victorian era characters.
  • Enjoy a free carriage ride, and don't forget to stop at the petting zoo.
  • Attention Shoppers - get some of that holiday shopping done at one of four vendor areas, plus local shops! Enjoy browsing the Artisan Market at Mooresville Arts Partnership, the indoor vendor areas at the Newby Campus and LifePointe Church, the 5 East Christmas Market on Main Street and be sure to browse outdoor vendor booths on Main Street as well! Stop in at Bud and Bloom Florist and Gifts for their annual Christmas Open House, and don't forget the many fun antique shops downtown!
  • Enjoy live music and other entertainment at various sites throughout the day, including Celtic music, the Indiana Dulcimer Society, harp music, outdoor strolling musicians and a variety of Main Stage performances, street performers and high school performers.
  • Entertainment for the kids features Adzooks Puppets, Silly Safaris, a petting zoo and more.
  • Meet a real live reindeer! (Santa's got to leave him somewhere while he's in town...find him at the Mooresville Public Library, along with crafts and more.)
  • Stop by Color Works Art Gallery and visit with the owner of Willowfield Lavender Farm for lovely (and relaxing) holiday gifts.

If you've never been to this Mooresville tradition, this is the year to make it YOUR family's newest tradition. Always held on the first Saturday of December, it's the perfect way to kickoff the month of December and get into the holiday spirit. Come out the night before for a fun tree lighting event at Bicentennial Park! Santa, elves and more will be on hand to celebrate the season as the tree lights up at 7 pm. If you're in town after dark between Dec. 3-31, check out the self-guided Mooresville Christmas Light Tour. (Download Map Here)

Be sure to stop in to visit the downtown shops as well - you'll find antiques, gift items and more! Ralph & Ava's provides a wonderful lunch stop, indulge in comfort food at Gray Brothers Cafeteria on Indiana Street, or enjoy the festive atmosphere at Zydeco's Cajun - they usually open early for the day and the experience is always amazing.
