Here's what's on the calendar to help you ring in the New Year in Morgan County. From New Year's Eve celebrations to things to do on New Year's Day to get your year kickstarted in a positive direction, we've got the info you need. 

New Year's Eve

Rockin' New Year's Eve Bash
Brickhouse on Main in downtown Martinsville welcomes Bigg Country for their Rockin' New Year's Eve Bash. Join them for live music, a delicious buffet dinner, passed hors d'ouevres, party favors and champagne at Midnight. Packages available including shuttle service and overnight accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express in Martinsville. 

New Year's Eve with the Main Street Band
Martinsville's own Main Street Band will bring in the New Year at American Legion Post #230 along with special guest Lance Camaron. There will be live music, party favors, a champagne toast and even a fortune teller! Tickets available at Tom Fiddlery in downtown Martinsville. 

New Year's Eve with The Scott Baker Project
The Mooresville American Legion Post #103 will welcome The Scott Baker Project (a.k.a. SBP) with their rock n roll sounds to usher in the New Year. Don't miss this evening of live music, cocktails, food and friends. 

Noon Year's Eve
Beginning at 11 am on New Year's Eve, the Monrovia Branch of the Morgan County Public Library will celebrate "Noon Year's Eve" with a countdown, balloon drop, crafts, stories... even a dance party! Bring the kids out to celebrate the New Year without missing bedtime. Kids are strongly encouraged to wear fancy attire to celebrate in style.

New Year's Day

High Noon Hike
Join Morgan County Parks for a First Day Hike at high noon at Burkhart Creek Park near Paragon. Meet at the Pierce Shelter near the parking lot at the north end of the park. Trail surfaces at Burkhart Creek range from crushed stone to pavement and the trails will take you thorough both prairie and wetland areas. One loop through the park should take approximately an hour, but participants are welcome to enjoy more than one trip around the park, if desired. *Dress for the weather!

New Year's Hike
Jimmy Nash City Park in Martinsville will once again host an informal New Year's Day Hike on Nash Trail to kick off the New Year by getting outside and getting active. Meet at the trailhead near the pond and set off on the loop trail. Each participant is encouraged to go at their own pace. Water and snacks are usually provided after the hike. *Dress for the weather!

First Day Hike by Lantern Light
Close out the first day of 2020 with a First Day Hike by Lantern Light! Morgan County Parks will host a hike on the White River Greenway Trail at Old Town Waverly Park, beginning at 5:30 pm. The four mile roundtrip should take approximately two hours. All ages are welcome, but please leave pets at home for this event. Participants are welcome to enjoy only a portion of the hike, if desired. *Dress for the weather!
