The vast majority of our Morgan County area restaurants are now open with regular dine in service. A few took some extra time to complete repairs or renovations, or just to make sure they were opening in the safest way possible. We're also lucky enough to have a few new restaurants opening up soon. To make it easy for you, we've put together a quick update on which eateries are reopening soon and what's brand new on the Morgan County dining scene. Of course, you'll want to check our full restaurant listings for all the available options.

Reopenings:

Zydeco's Cajun

Everyone's favorite Cajun eatery is set to reopen on July 1. The owners of Zydeco's Cajun took a bit of extra time to focus on repairs needed due to a spring tornado that hit Main Street Mooresville pretty hard, and also did a deep clean of the entire restaurant. We've missed them during the month of June, and we can't wait to gave some of our favorite Cajun specialties. Get ready to come out and enjoy this long-time Central Indiana favorite once again! They do not take reservations, but larger parties can call head (317-834-3900) to give them a heads up that you're on your way.

Forkey's Family Restaurant

Known as a local favorite, especially for breakfast, Forkey's Family Restaurant on Morgan Street in Martinsville also took some extra time to do some cleaning and repairs. They'll be opening back up in mid- to late-July, so if you've been missing them the wait is almost over! Watch their Facebook page for a more specific date in the coming weeks. Local parents will be relieved that their traditional back-to-school breakfast spot will be open in plenty of time for the next school year in August.

Ralph and Ava's Public House

Unfortunately, our friends at Ralph and Ava's Public House are still dealing with significant damage to the building sustained from the tornado that hit Mooresville this spring. Don't despair - they will reopen - but it will mostly likely be a few more months before repairs are complete and the restaurant can welcome you back. They hope to be open sometime this fall. We're anxiously awaiting their return.

Sgt. Pepper's Chicken

Currently open for carryout only, Sgt. Pepper's is gearing up to reopen their dining room space in early July. This local favorite has been missed by many. If you're in the mood for chicken (or an awesome pork tenderloin) this is the place to find it! From traditional bone-in chicken to tasty chicken bites or even fun additions like deep fried green beans, you'll find something to please everyone in your group at this local favorite.

The WaffleWhitch

Reopening in a brand-new location on the downtown square in Martinsville, The WaffleWhitch will be closed until the week of July 13th as they get settled in to their new digs. They're only flying around the corner though, so they'll be easy to find! Look for them to reopen at 72 E. Morgan Street, just down the street from Flourish Gallery and The Sterling Butterfly!

New Additions:

Gather A'Round BBQ

A long-time favorite at area festivals and events, popular food truck Gather A'Round BBQ is making the jump to a brick and mortar location right on Main Street! They'll be taking over the former Holy Smoke Hog Roast Company space adjacent to the green space at the corner of Main and Washington Streets just off the courthouse square in Martinsville. Expect all your favorites and some new offerings as well. (They have assured us that there will be plenty of candied bacon!) This location has one of the best outdoor dining spaces in Morgan County, so be sure to hit them up when the weather's just too nice to be inside. Opening in July.

Greek's Pizzeria - Mooresville

Located in the same plaza as Mooresville's Showtime Cinema (which is also set to reopen in July), Greek's Pizzeria - Mooresville brings the popular Greek's menu to northern Morgan County. Enjoy a full menu of great pizza, salads, oven baked sandwiches and more. This Greek's location opened in June and they're ready to serve you now!

Greek's Pizzeria - Martinsville & The Groggy Goat Tap Room

Located on the corner of Main and Morgan Streets in downtown Martinsville, Greek's Pizzeria - Martinsville is ready to dish up all your favorite Greek's specialties for Martinsville and the surrounding area. Enjoy the full menu of great pizza, salads, oven baked sandwiches and more. Adjacent to Greek's Pizzeria - Martinsville, The Groggy Goat Tap Room will feature a wide variety of craft beer to choose from as well as seasonal varieties. The Martinsville Greek's location and the Groggy Goat Tap Room is opening in July.
