It's almost time for this year's Artie Fest! One of Martinsville's favorite family festivals, Artie Fest is set to return in 2022 on July 8 and 9 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds! All your favorite events are back, plus new ones like a fun touch-a-truck event on Friday!
Here's everything you need to know about this annual family-friendly summer celebration in Martinsville.
Trust us, there's so much to do, you'll have trouble keeping up!
The two-day festival kicks off on Friday, July 8, with a Direct Sales Vendor Fair at 5 pm where you can find all your favorite direct sales vendors in one convenient place! At 6 pm, Artie Fest Bounce Town opens for the kiddos (bracelets are available). Also at 6 pm, the Antique Machinery Association Kiddie Train will begin accepting passengers and the brand-new Touch-a-Truck event will begin. They didn't forget the live music - Colton Chapman takes the stage at 7:30 pm on Friday.
JUST ANNOUNCED, JULY 8, 2022: Friday evening activities are expected to happen, with the exception of Kids' Bounce Town and Barrel Train Rides. These events will not take place on Friday due to the weather, but both activities will be available all day Saturday. All other Friday evening events will take place as scheduled. There's lots of space under roof at the fairgrounds, so you'll be able to enjoy the concert without getting too soggy.
Saturday's signature events kick off with the 5K Run/Walk, beginning at 8 am. Then, at 9 am, you can enjoy browsing the craft fair, . At 10 am, the classic car and truck show begins. Bounce Town and the Kiddie Train both reopen on Saturday at 10 am. Don't miss fun kids' activities, including Cub Scout Adventure Day and WonderLab's Hair Raising Experience! Live musical performers will be on the Free Stage beginning at 10 am featuring Jamie Nichole, Vivid 80s and more. The cornhole tournament and Trike Race return this year as well! The annual Artie Fest Movie will once again feature a very popular family-friendly movie. This year's feature is Disney's Encanto! The outdoor movie on a giant screen is always a family favorite! The movie will begin at approximately 9:45 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets (and maybe some bug spray) to enjoy the movie in comfort.(Don't worry if the weather looks a little iffy -- the Morgan County Fairgrounds location means they can take the big screen indoors in case of inclement weather!) Come early to be a part of a Community Photo before the movie. Free giveaway for the first children to arrive, while supplies last!
This year's Artie Fest Food Court will feature favorite flavors from the Shucker Shack, Davis Concessions & Kona Ice. They're even serving up breakfast this year!
There is no admission charge for Artie Fest, however parking at this year's event will be $3 per car. This is a fundraiser and net proceeds from parking will go to the Martinsville HS Cross Country Teams.
