I was fortunate to be able to participate in the Jan 2023 IndiGo Birding tour of Belize with David Rupp. It was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime trip and exceeded my already high expectations. Not only is David an excellent birder but he makes every effort for each participant to see the beautiful birds of Belize. I was able to see 195 species with 98 of them being life birds. There were so many gorgeous birds but the Lesson’s Motmot and Trogans were among my favorites.
David is excellent at helping us all become better birders. And he knows the good birding spots, time of day and best lighting.
Great day to spend with friends! We enjoyed clear blue skies, cold and crisp air and a great get away from the winter work days. David is so knowledgeable and shares his enthusiasm for nature.

A Rufous-vented Ground-Cuckoo, one of the hardest birds to find in Costa Rica, has been hanging out near an army ant nest recently at San Luis Adventure Park. We got to see it yesterday! I think it was watching us as much as we were watching it!
Leading a tour in Costa Rica with @lifer.field.guides this week. One of the target species (of course) is the Resplendent Quetzal, which we saw 5 of today!
