On October 24th, between the hours of 5 and 9 pm, an odd disturbance will occur at Old Town Waverly Historical Park. It seems for years beings of all kinds have waited among the rows of corn, the steam of the river, in branches of the ancient trees and in long forgotten underground foundations of buildings in what was once the thriving river town of Waverly, Indiana for the right time to expose themselves to the new inhabitants of the area.
It's recommended that visitors stay away unless they want to be exposed to a spectacular Halloween event.
We've been warned that over 10 haunted vehicles will appear with treats delivered from their trunks. The bank, blacksmith shop and trade center will also be filled with spirits who want to demonstrate their talents by sharing special activities for those young and strong enough at heart to try them.
A leader from a witch coven will stir up some trouble along Main Street and her minions will offer a wide variety of tasty morsels for the palette.
Hay rides, hot dogs, chili and s'mores will be included in the evening.
One might also expect a visit from the Headless Horseman after 7 pm along the River Trail Hayride.
Trunk or Treat and kids hours from 5-7 pm; A little more haunting may occur after the 7th hour.
This great event is a community partnership with Your Morgan County Parks and Recreation, Waverly School PTO and Harrison Township Fire Department.
The activities are free. Food will be available for sale at a minimal cost.
Come one, come all. . . just don't come too close.
