Join Taps on the Square for their 500th mission on Friday, July 22. What began as a seven day tribute to the precious lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December, 2021, has become a weekly tradition honoring the lives and service of American heroes for the past 468 consecutive Friday evenings. Ceremonies have continued without missing a week, taking place every Friday regardless of weather or other conditions. Held on the southwest corner of the Morgan County Courthouse lawn, Taps on the Square begins with the reading of the names of those lost, followed by rolling Taps played live at the seventh bell.
