This fun fall trail run offers several course lengths to ensure that runners of all skill levels can participate. Courses include 5K, 10K, 10 mile and 13.1 mile options through the mature, hilly, and shaded woods of Morgan-Monroe State Forest. Entries are limited, so register early!
The courses follow forest trails, and have long, mostly level stretches with some steep hills, which are tempered by switchbacks. Trails are flagged at frequent intervals with bright ribbon, and are cleared before the race to ensure they are mostly free of natural debris. Aid stations along the courses offer drinks every 2-3 miles. Amateur radio operators are stationed at each Aid Station and along other points in the course.
Check in the day of race begins at 7:30 am. Race begins at 9 am. Race is held rain or shine. Participants are welcome to gather with Hoosier Hikers Council volunteers after the race at the nearby shelter for hot soup, snacks, cookies and other treats.
