Join the Morgan County History Partnership at the newest Morgan County Parks property, the historic Wilbur Schoolhouse, located northwest of Martinsville. On April 27, you can interact with a variety of historic interpreters, including tin-smithing, beeswax candle dipping, spinning wheel demonstrations, historic displays and even talk with an old fashioned one room school teacher! Activities run from 10 am to 2 pm. Refreshments will be available.
The existing old one-room Wilbur schoolhouse was built in 1876 and used as a school until 1947. The brick addition was added in 1951. The property was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 and is now owned by Morgan County and managed by Morgan County Parks.
