May 12 will be a fun Saturday at Old Town Waverly Park! At 9 am, join Naturalist Joni James for the Big May Day Bird County! You'll spend approximately 90 minutes at the park and on the White River Greenway Trail counting birds. The objective is to count the number of birds of each species occurring in a participating county area from Midnight to Midnight on the second Saturday in May. The data snapshot provides a valuable scientific record of the bird poulation in Indiana. Bring your binoculars and dress for the weather!
At 11 am, Naturalist David Mow will lead a wildflower walk to see all the beautiful May flowers that result from our April showers! David is a Master Gardener, Master Naturalist and a Certified Mushroom Inspector who often leads tours in Morgan, Owen and Brown Counties.
There will also be blacksmithing and tinsmithing demonstrations throughout the morning at the park, plus the historic bank building will be open for viewing!
