The days get colder and the holiday decorations come out during the month of November as we transition from beautiful fall color to the colorful twinkling lights of the holiday season! It's time to hit up the craft shows and holiday open houses for those perfect holiday gifts, and enjoy the great outdoors as we bask in the sunshine of those final warmer days of fall. Hit up Morgan County's various trails and parks on those warmer days, and enjoy the area's many shops on those cooler days as we begin to usher in the holiday season!
Candy Cane Pours
Every Saturday in November and December, the Martinsville Candy Kitchen makes holiday dreams come true with their handmade candy canes. Watch their Facebook page for details on Saturday pour times each week, and additional pour times as they're scheduled. Don't miss Santa's visits this year on Nov. 27 and Dec. 18, and check out all the other sweet treats while you're there!
Berries & Ivy Country Store Holiday Open House
On the Saturday after Halloween each year, Berries & Ivy hosts a Christmas Open House from 10 am to 4 pm. The first 50 customers will receive a small gift item from the store. Come see their beautiful holiday decorations in person on November 6.
First Baptist Church Annual Craft Fair
The First Baptist Church in Martinsville will host their annual holiday craft fair on Saturday, Nov. 6. Come out and browse booths from local vendors featuring handmade items of all kinds. Food will be available on site as well.
St. Martin of Tours Holiday Bazaar & Cookie Sale
The annual Holiday Bazaar & Cookie Sale at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6. This is more than just a craft and vendor show, though you'll find dozens of booths from local vendors (and a rummage sale room), you'll also find great lunch options and the annual Cookie Sale, featuring several varieties of holiday cookies by the pound!
Join Chef Matt and the staff at 21 North Eatery + Cellar for a fabulous November Sunday Brunch on Nov. 7 from 11 am to 2 pm. Live Music: The 78s
Join Cedar Creek Winery for a fun afternoon of relaxed acoustic music with The 78s on Sunday, Nov. 7. Music begins at 2 pm for this free performance. All ages are welcome. (This is a perfect way to relax after Sunday Brunch!)
Second Friday Open Studios Night: Fine Lines & Bright Colors
Join the Art Sanctuary for November's Open Studios Night! Mingle with resident artists, see this month's exhibit, Fine Lines & Bright Colors, and maybe even get a bit of holiday shopping done! Drop in any time between 6:30 and 8:30 pm on Nov. 12. This month's exhibit features works in pen and ink from artist Nancy Maxwell and bright acrylics from artist Mika Power. Both are resident artists at the Art Sanctuary, so you can visit their working studios as well!
Girls Night Out
Everyone knows that girls just wanna have fun, so grab your girlfriends and get ready for a fun Girls Night Out event at Cedar Creek Distillery in Martinsville! From 6 to 9 pm on Friday, Nov. 12, the ladies will take over the distillery and enjoy cocktails, Botox, psychic readings, SammyGirlNailz and more!
Live Music: America's Sweethearts
The Morgan County Community Concert Association presents a fun performance by the group America's Sweethearts on Saturday, Nov. 7. Reminiscent of The Andrews Sisters, this four-person group features beautiful three-part harmonies with piano accompaniment. One of the group's members is even a Central Indiana native! Performance takes place at Mooresville High School Auditorium, beginning at 7 pm.

Festival of Lights
The holiday lights at Martinsville's Jimmy Nash Park will come on for the season on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27. Each year, Santa is on hand to light up the park for the entire season! Come out for the Festival of Lights event, or just swing by any evening from Nov. 27 to New Year's to see the light displays.
