As we find ourselves a full month into the New Year, it's that time of year that's rather unpredictable in Indiana... it could be frigid cold and icy, or almost spring-like. That means last minute adventures can be found just by going outdoors - hit up "Park Hill" at Jimmy Nash Park for a fun slide down when it's snowy, or head for one of the area's many trails for some fresh air on milder days. (We recommend sticking to the paved trails just after a thaw - trudging through inches of mud isn't good for the natural surface trails, and it's not much fun either.) Of course, you can't forget about fun events throughout Morgan County - things start ramping up again in February after a brief lull after the holidays. Here are our picks for February events to get on your calendar:
Whipped Peach Milkshake IPA Tapping
Join Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville as they tap their new Whipped Peach Milkshake IPA on February 4. Stop in between 3 and 10 for this unique brew made with peaches and vanilla. I'll have you thinking of warm summer days!
Live Music: Tim Neuman & Hoosier Que Food Truck
Cedar Creek Brewing Company will host another another fun live music and food truck night on Friday, Feb. 4. Featured performer will be Tim Neuman and the popular Hoosier Que food truck will be on hand as well. Music begins at 5 pm . All ages are welcome.
Cabin Fever Indoor Garage Sale
Ready to get out and do something fun? Head for the Morgan County Fairgrounds on Feb. 4 and 5 for the Cabin Fever Indoor Garage Sale! Shop a variety of booths from 3-8 pm on Friday and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday. This event benefits the Morgan County Extension Homemakers Scholarship Program.
Goat Yoga on the Farm
Join Walker's Homestead and their new baby goats for some goat yoga on the farm! This opportunity only comes up a couple times a year, so book your space now. There are two class times available on Saturday, February 5 - 10 am and 12 pm. Class fee includes snacks, mimosas and a $5 credit at their onsite store.
Live Music: The 78s
Cedar Creek Winery and Brewing Company in Martinsville presents an afternoon of casual music by The 78s. Music begins at 2 pm on Sunday, February 5. This is a free show and all ages are welcome.
National Stout Day Celebration & Live Music: Rob Amrhein
Join Black Dog Brewing Company in Mooresville welcomes musician Rob Amrhein to the stage on February 5, which also happens to be National Stout Day! Come check out Black Dog's "Layered" Imperial Coconut and Vanilla Stout between 1 and 10 pm. Live music begins at 7 pm.
Love is in the Air Valentine's Party
Cedar Creek Brewing Company of Martinsville will host a fun Valentine's Day celebration on Sunday, February 6 from 2 to 6 pm. Grab your sweetie (or maybe some friends) and head for The Creek to participate in Name that Song Bingo with The 78s! Music begins at 2 pm.
2nd Friday Open Studios Night
The artists of the Art Sanctuary of Indiana in Martinsville welcome you to their studio spaces on the second Friday of each month. This month's event takes place on February 11. Come see where resident artists create their work and enjoy an evening in Downtown Martinsville. Studios open from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
Paula June's Tea Room in Downtown Martinsville is set to help you celebrate your best gal pals with a special Galentine's Dinner event! Make your reservations now for Friday, February 11. Reservations are required and seating begins at 5 pm.

The Martinsville Candy Kitchen's popular Dessert Before Dinner Valentine's Day event returns in 2022! Make your reservations or place your carryout order now. Seating is available from 1 to 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 13 and from 3 to 6:30 pm on Monday, February 14. This year's choices include vanilla bean cheesecake with your choice of chocolate or strawberry topping, a white cake with raspberry filling or a decadent brownie sundae topped with ice cream and chocolate ganache.
Valentine's Day Dinner at Paula June's Tea Room
