April brings warmer days, flowers in bloom and fun events to Morgan County! This time of year is perfect for getting back outside and enjoying a hiking trail or two, participating in a 5K, or just wandering around town for the afternoon. Welcome, spring! Here are the upcoming events you'll need on your calendar to enjoy the season in Morgan County:
Visit Helen Link's Daffodils at Link Observatory
Each weekend in April, the Indiana Daffodil society makes sure the gates are open so you can walk among the thousands of daffodils planted by Helen Link, wife of Dr. Goethe Link who built the observatory and a well-known botanist in her own right. (It's also a great opportunity to snap some family photos among the flowers!)
Music at the Creek
Enjoy live music at Cedar Creek Brew Co, each Sunday afternoon from 2-5 pm from musician Andrew Pittman, who writes and sings modern folk, indie style and cover songs from every decade and genre. Don't hear your favorite? Ask - Andrew reportedly loves taking requests! While you're there, sample award winning wines, unique craft brews and Cedar Creek's newest addition, locally crafted spirits from the distillery!
April Fools Comedy Show
The historic depot theatre in Martinsville, normally home to the Merry MAC Players community theatre, takes a turn at comedy! Two nights of comedy, April 6 & 7, featuring well-known Indiana stand up comedians will have you laughing the night away. Each night features four professional comedians - Stephen Vincent Giles, Stephanie Lochbiler, Jonathan Pfendler and Austin Reel. Beer, wine and snacks will be available on site.
