Here's what we know so far about upcoming summer and fall festivals in Morgan County. We are working to identify which festivals and events we can still expect to take place in the coming months. Some are choosing to cancel due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated changes in state and federal recommendations for social events. Others are adapting their events to fit new recommendations as they can. Not all organizers have announced official decisions about 2020 events yet, so please be patient. We will continue to update as we get additional information from festival organizers. Below, we'll go through the major summer and fall festivals that take place annually in Morgan County and what their status is for 2020. 

Please note that even if events are scheduled to proceed, attendees are asked to follow all State of Indiana recommendations on social distancing and safety practices such as frequent hand washing. This list is intended for quick referencing of the current status of annual events. Please click on each individual event for specific event details on our calendar of events


Status of Event for 2020

Morgan County Farmers Market

Open as usual; attendees are asked to practice appropriate social distancing. Outdoor markets are held twice weekly through the end of September. Stay tuned for information on Winter Market closer to October. 
Tuesday Market is 3 to 7 pm at the Mooresville Friends Church.
Saturday Market is 9 am to 1 pm at The Main Connection in Martinsville. 

Courthouse Square Cruise In

This weekly event has resumed and will continue each Thursday through September. All vehicles are welcome to gather on the square from 5 pm to 8 pm. 

Downtown Merchants Third Thursdays

On the third Thursday of each month, downtown merchants in Martinsville host a themed event encouraging shoppers to explore the options available in the historic downtown district. June's event is Sidewalk Sales. Watch for additional events to be announced. 

Old Town Waverly Park Living History Days

This monthly event is still taking place, June through September on the second Saturday of each month. Traditional arts demonstrations include a varied mix of artisans including a blacksmith, tinsmith, fiber arts, textiles, painting, porcelain painting and more. Demonstrations may vary from month to month. Attendees are asked to practice social distancing and only a certain number of attendees will be allowed inside structures at one time.

Morgan County Antique Machinery Show

This event has been canceled for 2020. Watch for it to return in late June, 2021. 

Mooresville Summer Concert Series

Concerts will begin in July, 2020. Efforts have been made to reschedule bands originally scheduled for June, and the location for this live music series has been changed from the downtown Bicentennial Park to Pioneer Park to allow additional space for social distancing. 

Downtown Martinsville Summer Concert Series

Concerts will take place in July, 2020. Location remains at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana outdoor space at the corner of Jefferson and Pike Streets. 

Drink at the Creek Concert Series

Concerts will begin in July, 2020. Dates have been added to reschedule shows originally scheduled for May and June. Number of attendees will be limited to ensure space for social distancing at the shows. 

Martinsville 4th of July

The Martinsville 4th of July celebration is still on schedule at this time. Live music will begin at 2 pm adjacent to the Art Sanctuary at Jefferson and Pike Streets, with fireworks at Jimmy Nash Park at dark. There will also be a new, inaugural parade in downtown Martinsville on the morning of the 4th of July. 

Mooresville 4th of July

The fireworks show will take place from Pioneer Park, however there will not be live music or other festivities and the park will not be open to the public. Individuals are asked to watch from a distance, while practicing appropriate social distancing.

Artie Fest

This event has been canceled for 2020. Watch for it to return in early July, 2021.

Morgan County Fair

The Morgan County Fair will not take place in 2020. Arrangements will be made for 4-H competitions to be held, but the county fair itself will return in late July, 2021. 

Morgan County Fair Concerts

The Morgan County Fair Concerts, featuring Trace Adkins on July 31 and a series of rock tribute bands on August 1, will take place with additional safety measures. The concerts will not be held at the Grandstand this year, but rather in the grassy field area where the midway is usually set up during the fair. Sufficient space is available to designate seating areas by ticket type and attendees are expected to bring their own seating and practice social distancing within those areas. 

Old Settlers Festival

Typically held at Pioneer Park in Mooresville, this event has been canceled for 2020. Watch for it to return in early August, 2021. 

Paragon Homecoming Festival

The Paragon Homecoming Festival will take place this year, with some changes. There will not be carnival rides, but there will a variety of vendor booths, food vendors, games, the Paragon Fire Department Fish Fry, parade and more. All details are subject to changes, so check back closer to the event. 

Monrovia Festival

This event has been canceled for 2020. Watch for it to return in early September, 2021. 
The Monrovia Vendor and Craft Fair will take place this year on September 11 & 12. Watch for more details.

Hunter's Honey Farm Fall Celebration

We have received no cancellation for this event at this time. 

Colonel Vawter Day

We have received no cancellation for this event at this time. 

Eminence Harvest Festival

This event has been canceled for 2020. Watch for it to return in mid-September, 2021.

Martinsville Chili Cookoff and Chalk Art Festival

We have received no cancellation for this event at this time. 

Downtown Mooresville  Block Party

Typically in early June, the annual Downtown Mooresville Block Party has been tentatively rescheduled for September 26. The final summer concert of the year will return to Bicentennial Park to coincide with this event. Music will begin at 6 pm.

Apple Festival & Craft Fair

This year's Apple Festival and Craft Fair at Anderson Orchard is currently still on schedule for September 26 and 27. Anderson Orchard asks that you respect other customers' personal space by social distancing during your visit. 

Old Town Waverly Park Festival

This event is still scheduled to take place in late September. Watch for additional details closer to the event, but organizers are already working on details to make this event as safe as possible for attendees. 

Fall Foliage Festival

NEW DATES for 2020 - October 1-4. The Fall Foliage Festival plans to move forward with their 2020 event. Dates have been moved forward a week and there may be restrictions and other changes in place this year in response to the pandemic. Check back for details closer to the date. 
Kid Friendly October Fest Anderson Orchard still plans to welcome families to their annual kid friendly October Fest event on October 3 and 4 this year. Watch for additional details closer to the event date.
